3. Monitoring and supervision
Monitoring and Supervision are related terms and
refer to keeping watch over work that is going on.
Methods of monitoring include;
i. Continuous observation
ii. Checking supplies
iii. Examining records
iv. Discussing with staff

visits to the actual sites where the activities are
being carried out.

Types of evaluation
Evaluation types mainly include:
Mid term evaluation
Summative evaluation
Mid term evaluation is one that is carried out

–going evaluation.
Summative evaluation is the type of evaluation
that is carried out after the work has been done.

Steps in carrying out evaluation
Step 1. Decide what is to be evaluated and select
indicators of effectiveness.
Step 2. Collect the necessary information

programme or on the other uses of the evaluation
