compound sentences.
2. Students will be able to produce, expand and rearrange complete
simple and compound sentences.

III. Procedure:
a.) Motivation:
Group Activity Game: Set A and Set B containing words and phrases.
Combine these words and phrases in order to form a sentence.
b.) Presentation:
1st day: Introduction of the lesson
Reference/Discussion
Simple Sentence
- Expresses a complete thought.
- Has a subject and verb (predicate).
- Consists of a single independent clause.
Examples:
1. A small kitten followed me home.
2. Do you want to go to the park?
3. The girl was playing on her computer.
Compound Sentence
- Contains two independent clauses (two simple sentences).
- Joins the two clauses with a conjunction like for, and, nor, but, or, yet
and so and a comma or by a semicolon alone.
- Note: The joined clauses are called coordinate clause.
Examples:
1. The school bus stopped suddenly, but no one was hurt.
2. We ate pasta for dinner and we ate jelly for dessert.
3. Next summer might be better, or it might be worse.
