This picture is an example of a farm
plan.
As what you have observe, how many 4 rows ma’am.

What is the distance between row to 5m ma’am.
row?
Very Good class!
Review:
Before we start our next lesson, what Our last topic ma’am is about the orchard
was the last topic we’ve discuss last planting, and it includes the systems in
meeting? Anyone? Yes, (Student)? planting.
Very good (Student), who can Square System, Rectangular System,
enumerate the different systems in Quincunx or Diagonal System, Hexagonal
planting? Yes (Student)? System, and Contour system ma’am.
Very Good Class!
Motivation:
And now I have here a video, I want
you to observe carefully on what the
video is showing.
(Show the video)
What did you observe in our activity? I think it is about different designs of
Yes (Call Student)? irrigation system.
Very Good!
Presentation of the Lesson:
So our topic today is about the
different designs of irrigation system.
But before we proceed to our proper
discussion, let’s have an activity first.
B. Lesson Proper
Activity:
I will divide the class into 2 groups.
Each group will be given an envelope
with letters inside and they will form it
into its correct word, and try to define
what the word is. And choose a
representative for your group to
present your activity. You can form a
circle so you can collaborate with
each other. You only have 3 minutes
in this activity.
Do you have any questions class? None ma’am… Yes, ma’am.
You can start now.
Envelope 1: Group 1
Envelope 2: Group 2
After 3 minutes…Times Up!
Group number 1. Who is your (Start the activity)
representative? You can now start
presenting.
Very good class!
For group number 2? You can now (Start Presenting)
start.
Very Good!
As what I observe everyone have
their own knowledge about the word
that I gave to each group.
Analysis:
What do you observe in our activity? The activity ma’am is about the furrow
Yes (Student)? irrigation and boarder irrigation. And I
think these two is part of the different
designs of irrigation system.
Very Good! So base in our activity we
will encounter some questions like:
Why do think farmers need an
irrigation system design?
Abstraction:
So now let’s start our discussion and
let’s understand what is irrigation
system design.
What is irrigation system design?
Please read (Student).
- Irrigation system design
determines the efficiency and (Student read)
effectiveness of water use,
therefore influences the
profitability of the business.
Do you have any question? Did you None ma’am… Yes Ma’am
understand?
Let’s define first what is surface
irrigation.
SURFACE IRRIGATION- Water is
applied to the field in either the
controlled or uncontrolled manner.
Irrigations system has different
designs these include the:
1. Furrow Irrigation

1.2 Furrow Irrigation with siphons
2. Boarder Irrigation
3. Basin Irrigation
4. Sprinkler Irrigation
5. Drip or Trickle Irrigation
Yes, Ma’am… None Ma’am.
Did you understand the different
designs of irrigation system?
Considering the different design of Yes ma’am, because these designs will

live if there is no irrigation system?
(Call student)
Very good answer!
Yes, ma’am… None Ma’am.
Do you have questions?
Generalizations: 1. Furrow Irrigation
So again, (Student) what are the 2. Boarder Irrigation
different designs of irrigation system? 3. Basin Irrigation
4. Sprinkler Irrigation
5. Drip or Trickle Irrigation
Designing an irrigation system requires

purpose? (Call Student)
Very Good class!
Application:
So now let’s have a group activity
again.
GROUP ACTIVITY:
With the same group of two.
Each group will make a sketch
or a farm irrigation system
design you want to have. You (Start the activity)
can choose any of the different
designs in farm irrigation
system.
Each group will present their
activity.
You only have 5 minutes in this
activity.
Guide questions:
1. Why did you come up with this
irrigation system design?
2. What is the importance of
having this irrigation design?
3. What are process of this
irrigation design?
Scoring Rubrics:
Content 10%
Neatness 10%
Presentation 10%
Applicability 10%
TOTAL 40%
After 5 minutes…TIMES UP!
(Start Presenting)
Group number 1 you can start
presenting.
(Start Presenting)
Group number 2 you can start.
Very Good class! All your
performance was excellent!
So now, let’s have a quiz. Get 1
whole paper, and write your name,
together with grade and section, and
also the date today. You only have 5
minutes to answer the quiz.
Evaluation:
Identification: Identify what type of
design of irrigation system in each
item. (5 minutes)
____1.
____2.
____3.
____4.
____5.
(After 5 minutes) TIMES UP! Pass
your paper in front of you class.
