years experience seeking for an employment with …………… NHS trust.
I am an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist and I hold certification in Medical
Laboratory Science. I also have CPD trainings in; Health and Safety, Cost and
Impact of poor data quality, Antihuman globulin test, Infection Prevention and
Control, and Quality management system amongst others.
With my ability to improve patient’s care and positive outcomes, I am excited to
contribute to………..NHS trust continuing success which is one of the country’s
biggest health care provider.
I am currently working as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in Immaculate Heart of
Mary Specialist Hospital, Nkpor Anambra State, Nigeria.
I have wealth of experience in blood sciences specifically clinical biochemistry
where I have trained student biomedical scientists and intern biomedical scientists.
In my present job where I work in the blood sciences/clinical biochemistry
laboratory, I garnered hands-on experience on the use and troubleshooting of a
variety of different automated and semi-automated analyzers, laboratory
management systems which include BS 120 and BS 240 Mindray analyzer,
Reflotron semi-automated analyzer, FinecareTM HBA1c analyzer, Mindray Mr-
96A, ST-100B electrolyte analyser, BC5150 Mindray and Mindray 2800, Zybio
automated analyzer, bio rad real-time quality control software, Elga water purifier
and distiller amongst others as well as experience on the use of some quality
management softwares such as Q-pulse, Winpath computer systems. I have
performed various routine chemistry tests according to standard operating
procedures (S0Ps) such as LFT (GGT, ALT, AST, total bilirubin, albumin,
globulin.s total protein, ALP), Hormonal assays, kidney function tests, lipid
profile, metabolic tests (glucose tests, CRP, rheumatoid factor tests) tumor markers
and various point of care devices such as ichroma for PSA and clover for HBA1c.
I have come across different pathological conditions and different presentations of
the same or related conditions and have successfully identified and queried sample
contamination situations. I ensure accurate documentation, interpretations and
validations of results, calibration and maintenance of equipment ensuring
compliance with quality management and quality control system. I am able to
recognize critical limits and report them promptly; I ensure the senior Medical
Laboratory Scientist is notified of any unusual result and communicate effectively
with the clinical scientists about results that need reviews. I ensure patients’
confidentiality always. I can maintain a clean/tidy working environment and also
keep all laboratory equipment and accessories clean; I request for needed
consumables and reagents, ensure high quality inventory to maintain integrity and
re-order them before they go out of stock. I have good knowledge of the health and
safety laws that promotes one’s ability to work in a good safe environment which
includes COSHH, Fire Regulations Risk Assessment. I have a good knowledge of
infection prevention and control and spillage containments. I have participated
both in internal and external quality control. I adhere strictly to work ethics; assist
with accreditation preparation and laboratory audits. I am actively involved in
method evaluation, validation and verification.
I researched on the effect of Tobacco snuff on wister rat during my undergraduate
days. The rats were fed with smokeless tobacco for two months after which they
were sacrificed and their blood samples and some part of their tissues were taken
to the laboratory for analysis. So after the analysis, some findings were gotten and
then published.
Tobacco induced renal function alterations in wister rats. An 8weeks study.
Effect of Tobacco snuff consumption on plasma sodium and potassium
levels in rat.
Tobacco induced Priapism in wister rats; A case report.
The effects of tobacco snuff consumption on liver enzymes.
Tobacco snuff induced organ weight changes.
Acute effect of tobacco snuff consumption on plasma total protein, albumin,
globulin and fasting blood sugar levels in rats
