Scene 1

INT. ANGEL’S BEDROOM - MORNING

Black screen, sound of a crowing rooster and blaring alarm.

FADE IN:

KEEFER, already wearing his school uniform, shakes Angel’s

shoulders in an attempt to wake her up for her class.

KEEFER
(teasingly)
Hoy Gel! Mata na, unsa na orasa o! Ka mantika ba
ani niya matug. Piti jod ka mama yabaga ka!

ANGEL wakes up startled. She sits up and hastily reaches for her
phone and turns off the alarm. KEEFER steps aside and snickers at
his sister.

ANGEL
(gi alimungawan, holding the phone)
Kasaba ba arun uyyy. Unsa naman diay orasa? Asa naman
akong cellphone?!

KEEFER
(laughs at his sister)
Da! Mao ka! Pag dugay dugay pagtug!

ANGEL struggles to leave the bed.

KEEFER
Ganina ra bitaw mi sig pukaw nimo, di jod ka
Mamati!

ANGEL rushes to get her towel and uniform. Struggling to find her
uniform.

ANGEL
Tsk! Asa naman ako uniform?!

KEEFER
(teasingly)
Tara imo uniform o, naunsa!

ANGEL
Ay, tara diay! Hala uy!

ANGELICA (OFF SCREEN)

(distant)
Gel! Kanaog na kuno, mo skuwela ka or di?!
 KEEFER
(teasingly)
Hala, patay ka!

ANGEL
Tsk, ouh lagi! Wait sa, padung na! Padung na!

With her towel and uniform in hand, ANGEL rushes to the bathroom
and closes the door behind.

SCENE 2

INTERIOR. KITCHEN/DINING - MORNING

ANGEL rushes to the kitchen as she dries her hair with a towel.
KEEFER is already sitting at the table.

KEEFER
(teasing)
Lupig pa may namilar nimo, sige nalang pangadlawn
kakuyaw jod oy

Angel’s mother, ANGELICA, on the other hand, is preparing food

for breakfast. ANGEL grabs 3 plates and as she does this, camera
pans to two matching cups (Angel’s and Keefer’s).

KEEFER
(teasing)
Apili ko ha!

ANGELICA
(lagot)
Unsa man ka, Angel?! Ka dugay ba nimo ni bangon. Pa
late nasad ka ha! Asa man diay ka gikan pag gabii,
sayo man ta ka ron. Kinsa ra bitaw mahagbong!

Ignoring Angelica, ANGEL then places it on the table, sits down

and waits for the meal.

KEEFER
Pftt! Nganong luya man nag nawng ang princess nga wow
manag nina.

ANGEL
(sighs deeply, nanampiling)
Ah gikapoy pa man ko uy.

KEEFER
 Luyat na kay kag eyebags! Unsa man, kaya pa Gel?

ANGEL
(sarcastic laugh)
Ah, di naman ni mada uy, kapoya kinabuhia.

ANGELICA arrives aggressively serving the viand she’s been

cooking on the table.

ANGELICA
Nya manampiling nalang jod kas pagkaanan?! Pagkaon na
dira, ay na kuno sig tama!

ANGELICA slaps Angel’s failed examination paper on the table.

ANGEL fixes her posture.

ANGELICA
Naunsa, dili nalang jod ka magtarongs imong kinabuhi?
Naa pay math exam nimo ay, hagbong. Kabalo kong naguol
pa kas kahintabo sa imong kuya..

At the mention of her brother, ANGEL dropped eyes started to

fill with tears, hands shaking.

ANGELICA
(muffled)
... pero favorite subject man unta na ninyo, di nalang
jod ka maningkamot?! Sauna katong naa pa imong kuya,
dili man ka ing-ana! Maninguha pa man kas imong
kinabuhi! Ngano naman ka ron?

As ANGELICA scolds her daughter, the atmosphere changes. ANGEL,

teary-eyed, looks at the seat Keefer once sat earlier—the chair
is empty. Camera pans to Keefer’s picture with a lit candle next
to it. Soft to loud sound of a car accident, then a notification
then pops up on Angel’s phone. A reminder from her calendar
“Keefer’s Death Anniversary” and another message from her
counselor that said, “Good morning!” “How are you feeling,
Angel?” “If I may ask, why were you absent from your last therapy
session?” ANGEL then runs away from home, sobbing.

ANGELICA
Hoy Angel! Balik kuno nganhi! Ka bastos ba nimong
bataa ka!
CUT TO:
ACT 2
SCENE 1
IN:

EXT. BUS/JEEP - MORNING

ANGEL, crying, enters the vehicle and sits next to LJ. The camera
then pans to LJ. LJ notices ANGEL crying, but returns back to his
nervous state, trying to count if his coins are enough to pay for
the fare. LJ’s hands are shaking and his leg keeps on bouncing.

LJ
(in his mind)
Lord, please unta sakto ra jod ni akong pamlite. Unta
naa pay sobra pang dungag sa paniudto namos akong mga
igsuon, Lord please.

EARL
(yells)
Oh, Mercado, Mercado! ‘Lihug ko, sikit-sikiti bi,
sikit-sikiti lang aron makalarga nata! Sinsilyo lang
sa ha.

LJ
(in his mind)
Nah, kuwangan jod. Unsaon man ko ni oy? Lord, tabang
please. Wala na koy kwarta.

EARL, the bus conductor, collects the fare of the passengers.

Asking where they first rode the bus and their destination. Once
it was LJ’s fare to be collected, EARL asks this:

EARL
Asa ni gikan dong?

LJ
(voice shaking)
___ kuya, studyante. Ari lang ko naog ya.

LJ says, as he passes the coins to Earl. As EARL is counting the

said coins, panicking, LJ stands up and runs out of the bus out
of nervousness and sheer panic. EARL then realizes that Lj’s fare
is not enough.

EARL
Hoy dong! Kuwang ni imong plete! Hoy!

CUT TO:
SCENE 2

EXT. MARKET - MORNING

LJ runs as fast as he can away from the bus. He felt guilty for
what he did and kept on apologizing in his mind.

LJ
 (apologetically)
Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.

As he caught his breath, he realized that he ended up in the

center of the market where numerous food stalls are stationed. He
slowly walks as reality dawns on him, he hasn’t eaten lunch yet.
Then, he realized, his siblings haven’t had theirs either. He
questions his situation.

LJ
(in his mind)
Hala, nakakaon na ba kaha to akong mga manghud? Unsa
man tawn ipakaon nako nila? Masud pa ba ning usa ka
gatos?

Teary-eyed with his questions, he continued to wonder if he truly

deserves to live a life like this. He observed the people eating
in the food stalls, questioning life.

LJ
(teary-eyed)
Studyante pa man unta ko oy, nganong lisod naman kaayo
akong kinabuhi? Unsa kahay mahintabo ug ing-ana ko ka
kwartaan no? Nganong kinahanglan man jod kag kwarta
para mabuhi aning kalibutana? Ah, lisora oy. Gusto ko
man lang mo ginhawa, ngano lisod man jod kaayo, Ginoo?

DORY
(excitedly, at a distance)
Hala, naa si Kuya! Dali ‘te Gigi!

DORY and GUIN Lj’s sisters happily ran towards their brother once
he saw him on the streets of the market. The moment they arrived,
a happy face plastered all over LJ’s face. As if he had no
worries, rubbing his sisters’ heads.

GUIN
(pouting)
Hi Kuya Jie! Mangaon na ta na, gutom na mi ni Dodo.

DORY
Mao Kuya, nag tingog na akong tiyan!

LJ
(laughing, teasingly)
Ay kaluoy gud diay aning mga bataa uy. Tana, mangaon
ta.

GUIN
Ay, Kuya patabang pud ko sa akong mga assignment ha.

DORY
 Ako pod Kuya! Nahugaw pod ako usa ka t-shirt ganina,
magpalaba pod ko Kuya, please.

GUIN
Naa sad diay bayronon sa amo skuwelahan kuya, amot
amot daw. Naa sad toy PTA meeting.

Although overwhelmed, LJ keeps a smiley face.

LJ
Sige, sige, lihokon tana tanan ha. Mangaon sa ta, unsa
may gusto ninyo?

Right after the question, a mysterious man in a rush hits LJ on

the shoulder and continues to run away.

DORY
Ngano man to siya oy! Siya akong dasmagan ron!

GUIN
‘Kay ra ka, ya?

LJ nods, confused. After the collision, LJ realizes a wallet fell

off the man’s hands and tries to return it,

LJ
‘Ya! Imong pitaka nahulog! Hoy!

however he was nowhere to be seen. He opened the wallet with the

intention of looking for something to contact the rightful owner.
However as he saw the picture, he heard a yell. Camera pans from
the picture on the wallet to the person yelling from LJ’s
perspective.

ACT 2
SCENE 1

HESLY
(angrily points at LJ)
Hoy! Kawatan!

The moment HESLY, a rich wife of a campaigning politician, yelled

the accusation, people’s heads immediately turned to the
situation. LJ furrows his brows and shakes his head in confusion.
His siblings were confused as well.

LJ
(confused)
Ha..? Unsay katawan..?
 HESLY
(still pointing at LJ)
Aha naman ang police? Tan-awa oh, naa niya akong
Pitaka! Prisoha na siya!

LJ drops the wallet and waves his hands trying to signal “no.”

LJ
(confused)
M-Ma’am, nakit-an ra ko ning pitaka, ma’am.
Naay naka bangga nako ganina—wala koy gi kawat!

HESLY
Right here, officer! He stole my purse!

The barangay TANOD and POliCE arrived at the scene running

towards LJ and arresting him, immediately listening to what HESLY
said. The POLICE aggressively placed Lj’s arms behind him in an
attempt to arrest him. LJ tried to resist, heavily confused with
the fast pace of events.

LJ
Wala man koy gibuhat nga di mao! Wala man koy gi
kawat! Chief, paminawa intawn ko. Di man ko kawatan!
Wala koy gikawat! Palihog tawn, estudyante pa ko!
Akong mga manghud—

HESLY
Mo rason pa jod ka nga kita naman ko nimong ga kupots
sa akong wallet! Katawan pa, bakakon pa! Ikaw ni kawat
sa akong wallet! Kawatan!

DORY
(angry, teary-eyed)
Hoy, gi unsa mana ninyo akong Kuya! Wala man siyay gi
kawat! Buy-i na ninyo siya ba! Buy-i uy!

DORY begs, trying to remove the police’s grip on her brother’s

arm. With no response, she ran to her sister Guin and also tried
to convince Hesly to not press charges. GUIN tried to talk to
Hesly, shaking her arms in an attempt to convince her, ready to
kneel if she had to.

GUIN
Ma’am please, wala may gibuhat among kuya. Naa ray ni
bangga niya Ma’am, please. Dili mana siya kawatan!
Maluoy ka, ma’am. Nasakitan na na akong kuya sa ilang
kinuptan!

HESLY
Niya ikaw? Kaila ka nako?! Kaya tikang ipapriso
 parehas sa imong kuya, buy-i ko!

As HESLY says the last part, she aggressively brushes GUIN’s hand
on her arm, causing GUIN to fall on her back.

LJ
Guin!

Dory
Te Gi!

Dory rushes to her sister, and LJ tries his best to do so too. He

knelt in front of his sisters with the police still holding his
arms.

LJ
Okay ras kuya ha? Adto lang sa mong Tita Baby ha.
Balik ras kuya ha. Di mabalaka, okay ra ko. Okay
ras kuya. Gi, Do, pagbinuotan mo ha, ayg pabadlong ni
Tita. Sige na, ay naghilak. Ma okay ra ni tanan. Salig
Lang kuya.

DORY
(crying)
Di lagi ka namo biyaan Kuya!

GUIN
Tana na, Dodo. Balik ras Kuya, sige na. Salig lang.

POLICE
Sige na, tana na! Dal-a na ni siyas prisohan!

POLICE
(muffled)
Ikaw ay inaaresto sa salang pagnanakaw. Ikaw ay may
karapatang manahimik o magsawalang kibo.Anuman ang
iyong sasabihin ay maaaring gamitin pabor o laban sa
iyo sa anumang hukuman. Ikaw ay mayroon ding
karapatang kumuha ng abogado na iyong pinili.Kung wala
kang kakayahan, ito ay ipagkakaloob sa iyo ng
pamahalaan.

(Slowmo) As the POLICE recited the Miranda Rights,they

aggressively took LJ away, his thoughts started to drown out any
other sound.

LJ
(in his mind)
Ing-ani jod diay ni basta nay kwarta? Ing-ani na ni ka
unfair ang kinabuhi? Ma unsa naman ning akong mga
 manghud ron? Ako? Maunsa man ko? Kung naa man jod ka
Ginoo, tabangi intawn mi.

After the LJ’s thoughts, the camera focuses back on Hesly.

ACT 3
Scene 1
As HESLY turns around, she realized she made a big scene, people
were talking. She tried walking away, but still she could hear
everything people said. Nervous about what her husband might hear
and do, she started to walk quickly in an attempt to escape.

CHISMOSA 1
Uy, dili ba na asawa ni General Jacob?

CHISMOSA 2
Mao sa? Katong ni dagan opisina ron diiba?

CHISMOSA 3
Sus, mao diay nang batasan sa asawa diay.

CHISMOSA 4
Si ano na no..?

CHISMOSA 5
Dili ta mo botar sa bana ana niya oy. Parehas ra na
silag batasan.

CHISMOSA 6
Kita ka ganina? Nanukmod na ug bata asawa ni General
Jacob.

Just when HESLY was about to turn a corner, her footsteps

haltered upon seeing Jacob. A hand drags her away from the crowd.
The tight and aggressive grip was hurting HESLY.

HESLY

Jacob, my wrist hurts! Jacob, people are watching.

Says HESLY as she realizes the looks they are getting from the
people. They walked until they found an alleyway away from the
everyone. Jacob aggressively drops HESLY’s hand, and grabs her
chin.

HESLY
What are you doing, Jacob?

JACOB
(shaking in anger)
I am the one who should ask you that question right
 now, Hesly. What are you doing?! You create a
scene in the exact same place I’m campaigning, ruining
my name out of all things?! People have been talking,
Hesly! Because of you!

JACOB harshly pushes HESLY towards the wall. HESLY hits her head
and bleeds. JACOB attempts to slap her. Quick flashback to all
the times JACOB has tried to hit Hesly. HESLY flinches, tears
welling up in her eyes. Jacob slapped her.

JACOB
You had one job! You just had to act proper for once
unya di gihapon kaya?! You’re an embarrassment, Hesly!
You’re embarrassing me, you’re ruining my name!

HESLY
(crying, whispering)
I-I was robbed, okay?

JACOB
I don’t care! It’s my name you are carrying, so act
like a Ronan! Kabalo ka unsay angay buhaton sa tawng
parehas nimo?

JACOB once again, raises his hands, HESLY flinches and prepares
herself for the blow, but Jacob’s phone rang. He answers it, and
mouths a threat to Hesly.

JACOB
(mouths)
Bantay ka nako ig uli

JACOB
Ah yes, yes. Of course, let’s proceed to the venue for the ]

feeding program. Yes, I’ll be there, I love the kids so

much, I’ll never not be absent. My wife? Yes, she is
coming.

JACOB
(mouths)
Get ready in 5

JACOB first left the alleyway still on his phone call, and it was
then that HESLY let her tears fall off her face. She takes a deep
breath, aggressively wiping all her tears and opens a compact
mirror. Her mouth was bleeding. And then she saw all the
incidents that Jacob beated her up through the mirror. She
covered up all her blood and left the alleyway too.
 ENDING SHOTS
Nagabot si Hesly, Angel, and Lj. Slowmo shitz, then mga stories
na sa uban random peeps, mga manghud guro ni lj, katong mga
chismosa, si earl, ug mga police n all. Then pinaspasay more
random peeps.
