*Be brief, to the point and formal in your Language

*Use of passive sentences makes your report impressive (example-In the evening a
fire broke out in the market INSTEAD USE -A fire broke out in the market, in the
evening yesterday.
*Write in third person

Talk on Disaster Management

A Talk on Disaster management was organised by Delhi Public School Kalinga, Cuttack, on
22 November 2024, in the school auditorium. Keeping in view, the frequent occurrences of
earthquakes, floods, cyclones and torrential rains, in the country, students of all city schools
were invited to attend the programme and get trained in disaster management.
Eminent scientists and government officials were invited to address the students and
demonstrate disaster management techniques. The event began with a welcome note by the
principal after which the scientists explained some precautionary measures to be taken by the
people and the government in case of emergency. The audience took part whole heartedly by
asking relevant questions and the experts were delighted to answer them all. The principal
urged the government official to make disaster management a subject at the school level to
reach out to all the citizens of the nation.
The Event concluded with a slide show depicting precautions and methods to be taken in case
of a calamity. Sharing their experience, the audience expressed great satisfaction on the
knowledge gained and also informed that they would spread their learning beyond their school
Community.

24 October 2024, Kendrapara: The National Disaster Response Force(NDRF) played a
crucial role in rescue and relief operations in Kendrapara, Odisha, after a devastating
cyclone hit the region on the night of 22 October. The cyclone caused widespread
destruction, with many homes, roads and communication systems severely damaged.
In response, multiple NDRF teams were deployed to assist in the aftermath.
The teams equipped with boats, cutters and other necessary rescue tools, focussed on
evacuating stranded people from flood hit areas. They worked around the clock to ensure
the safety of thousands of residents trapped in their homes due to heavy flooding. Special
efforts were made to prioritize the elderly, women, and children, ensuring their safe
evacuation to nearby relief camps. In addition, the teams also provided first aid, food,
water and medicines. Their timely intervention helped minimize the loss of life.
The NDRF’s coordinated efforts with local authorities and other disaster management
agencies ensured a swift and efficient rescue operations, alleviating the sufferings
of people in Kendrapara. Addressing the state on the State Television, The Chief Minister,
Mr. Mohan Majhi, also applauded the exemplary contribution made by the Rescue team.
