Assignment task
For this assignment you will need to complete four tasks. For each task you are required to select one of
the following organisations:
• A restaurant: TGI Fridays
• A building contractor: Balfour Beatty (UK)
• A supermarket branch: Iceland
• A college or university: Buckinghamshire New University
• A bank or insurance company: Chase Bank
• A clothes or jewellery retailer: Levi's (clothes), H. Samuel (jewellers)
• A cleaning company: Molly Maid (UK)
You may use the same organisation for some or all the tasks. Make sure you agree with your group
members on the organisation, product or service you select for Task 2: Group Presentation.
Task 1: Poster
Create a Poster for a talent management conference which outlines the role of HR functions in general
and includes examples from your selected organisation. The poster should be visually appealing and
include:
• A brief introduction to HR
• Key HR functions with brief description for each
• Illustrations or infographics to represent each function
• An evaluation of HR's impact on your selected organisation’s business performance

Task 2: Group Presentation
For this task, you will need to work in a group of 4 or 5 students and deliver a Group Presentation using
PowerPoint or Canva. Your group is required to create and present a marketing plan for a product or
service. Group members must select the organisation and the product or service they wish to bring to
market from the list of organisations provided above. Group members must work together to combine
different marketing ideas into a campaign and deliver a 15-minute presentation. They should describe the
product or service, compare it to similar products or services offered by competitors and explain the
reasons for their marketing decisions. Each member must deliver one section of the presentation.
Please note that presentations will be recorded for internal moderation purposes.
Task 3 – Factsheet
For this task, you need to provide an informative Factsheet that visually represents and explains the
dynamic relationship between internal and external factors that influence businesses, with specific
reference to your selected organisation from the list of organisations above. Your factsheet should discuss
key concepts in business management and analyse the connections of various elements within the
business environment. You are required to write between 800 and 1000 words.
Task 4 –Report
As a junior manager of one of the organisations listed above, you have been asked to write a Report that
describes the role of finance functions within the organisation. Your report should demonstrate clear
knowledge of how finance functions and reporting contribute to the overall management and success of
the organisation. You are required to write between 1000 and 1200 words.

This assignment has been designed to provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your
achievement of the following module learning outcomes:
LO1: Describe the role of HR, Marketing, and Finance functions within organisations.
LO2: Develop an understanding of collaborative working practices.
LO3: Demonstrate an understanding of the main factors, both internal and external, which impact
businesses.
LO4: Demonstrate knowledge of the role of financial management and reporting within the organisation.
