In-Service Training on the USEFUL APPS for Evaluating Learner’s
Performances and for Formative Assessment, PPST Resource Package
Objectives and Mid-year School Program Implementation Review
I. RATIONALE
Section 7 of Republic Act No. 10533 pointed out on Teacher Education and Training which calls for the
conduct of professional development programs throughout the school year in order to ensure constant upgrading of
teacher skills thus the conduct of School Midyear INSET.
The Department of Education also issued a guideline on the School Calendar and Activities for the School Year
2024-2025 to enable schools and community learner center to effectively and efficiently implement school activities and
maximize instructional time in cognizance of the goal and objectives of the MATATAG agenda.
The five (5)-day midyear school break, schedule from November 25 to 29, 2024, shall encompass a blend of
professional development and assessment of programs, projects and activities (PPAs). A three (3)-day School-based
In-service Training (INSET) shall provide teachers with the guidelines issued the National Educator Academy of the
Philippines (NEAP) on the conduct of INSET and the preparation of instructional materials.
The remaining two (2) days shall be dedicated to the Midyear Performance Review and Evaluation (MPRE),
aimed at assessing the school’s progress in implementing educational programs, projects and activities, as well as
collaboratively reviewing teachers’ and staff’s performance.
Thus, this In-Service Training (INSET) is designed to evaluate the progress attained in the implementation of
the educational programs of the school embedded in the LRCP, specifically on learning remediation and intervention,
professional development of teachers and socio-emotional functioning.
II. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the workshop, the participants should be able to equip themselves with knowledge during the trainings
on:
1. discuss the indicators of the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers;
2. identify what teachers are expected to know, be able to do, and value in their profession;
3. make use of the USEFUL APPS for the evaluation of learner’s performances; and,
4. plan for school project implementation actions
Specifically,
•100 percent of the participants will be updated, learn, and re-learn about all the topics.
•Attain the Mission and Vision of the Department of Education like continuous improvement, child-friendly
environment, maximum potential development, empowerment through research and innovation, decision making
skills, leadership enhancement, etc.

V. PROCESS/ METHODOLOGY
1. Registration a day before the training starts. Participants must sign a hard copy registration form
documentation (MOVs) and for liquidation purpose.
2. All participants’ outputs shall be used as and/or for instructional delivery and for future references i.e.,
action research/innovation proposal, instructional materials, activity sheets, reflections/ insights of the day etc.
3. LSA/Para-teachers or volunteers are welcome in this training unless approved by the principal.
4. Documentation of INSET shall be done by the committee for future use/references of teachers and
personnel.
5. The modes of delivery on this training is through the following:

IX.MONITORING AND EVALUATION
To ensure the success of this activity, the monitoring and evaluation will be done by the School Head, District
Coordinating Principal and other concerned DepEd personnel.
Monitoring and evaluation activities are essential to every training. The preparation shall be done by the
secretariat committee which will ensure the smooth implementation of the activity. A completion report shall be
submitted to the Human Resource Development office after the INSET.
The outcome which determines the possible solutions and recommendations shall be utilized to improve the
delivery of instructions to the learner. Output and activity portfolios will be gathered by the process observers for
evaluation. Post-Training Evaluation Form will be used after the training is completed, a narrative report and pictorials
will be submitted to the Schools Division Office as mode of verification.
