Students are required to evaluate of the electronic sources:
1. Full-text database (source database) (1 only from subscribed to by UiTM)
2. Bibliographic databases (1 only from subscribed to by UiTM)
3. Internet sources (1 only from open source)
Requirements:
1. Students should give overview of all electronic sources that was chosen.
2. Detailed Evaluation: Analyse each source based on the following expanded criteria:
• Authority: Who is the creator or publisher? Are they reputable?
• Objectivity and Subjectivity: Is the information biased or unbiased?
• Currentness: How recent is the information?
• Coverage: What topics does it cover? Is it comprehensive or selective?
• Search Strategies: How do you find information? Are there helpful search features?
• Functionalities: Can you save, download, export, or share content easily?
• Target Audience: Who is the intended user (students, researchers, etc.)?
• Publisher/Copyright: Who owns the material, and are there copyright restrictions?
• Access: How do you get access to the data (login required, free, etc.)?
• User Needs: Does it meet the needs of its typical users?
• Updates: How often is the database updated?
• Software: Is there specific software needed to use the source?
• Usability: Is the search function easy to use for both beginners and experts?
• Guidance: Are there help manuals or user guides available?
• Purpose and Audience: What is the primary purpose of the source and who is it aimed at?
• Scope: What is the range of topics covered?
