INTRODUCTION
The University Management gave a directive to all Colleges to allocate offices to all their members of staff in
preparation for the forthcoming Accreditation Exercise.
Based on this directive, the Ag. Dean and the College Officer have allocated Offices, Lecture halls, and
Rehearsal Studios as shown in the table below:

OBSERVATIONS
The following were observed
There are no toilets in three HODs offices. They are Music, History and Diplomatic Studies, and Theatre
and Performing Arts.
There is need to construct toilets in all seven offices belonging to Professor (4) and Associate Professors
(6) to make them Ensuite.
COHED Board room needs a face lift, to be upgraded with tiles, curtains, fans, Shelves and more seats
to sufficiently meet the number of staff in the College.
Fine Arts department does not have space for Ceramic Studio. A shed is being proposed to be
constructed directly behind the Sculpture Studio to serve this purpose.
There are no book shelves in the College Library and Departmental libraries (in SLAN Building). Also,
there is a need to stock the library with current books. (Departments have already submitted requisition
in this area to the library).
There are no reading tables and chairs in the Departmental libraries (in SLAN Building).
There are lots of damaged seats in all the classrooms that need repairs. In the same light, there are
insufficient seats in room13,14,15, 24 and 27 and provision for white marker boards in all th classrooms
Rooms 9,10,11,12 for Music Studios and converted practical classrooms needs special furniture’s,
burglaries and doors.
Dance room (6) for Theatre and Performing Arts needs mirrors on the walls and woods on the floor
College Lecture Theatre needs illumination, repair of leaking roof and seats and white marker board.
New whiteboards are needed in all classrooms and studios.
There’s is shortfall of offices for visiting lecturers. (There’s need for creation of 3 additional offices for
visiting lecturers (professors) and 18 additional offices for visiting lecturers (SL) for the departments to
boosts its staffs strength.
CHALLENGES
Challenges include
All offices allocated in COHED and SLAN Building are still presently occupied by staff of the Legacy
College.
The Directorate of Teaching Practice occupies large spaces earmarked for studios and offices.
The Directorate of Guidance and Counselling occupies large spaces earmarked for studios and offices.
Some shared spaces in COHED (RM 2,3,4,5,6,7) with COSED in SLAN building (1- 17) need to be
partitioned with aluminum
PRAYER
The College of Humanities Education prays that the University Management considers the release of funds for
the renovations and demarcations of the identified spaces in preparation for the forthcoming Accreditation
Exercise.
