IV. Wherever three sections of king seam got separated, it is proposed to develop
along stone roof in top section and along stone floor in bottom section. During
depillaring, both sections will be extracted simultaneously.
C. In some areas where Index seam attained workable thickness, middle and bottom
sections of king seam are also developed. However for exploitation in these areas,
either middle or bottom section is considered along with index seam for
simultaneous extraction based on thickness of middle/bottom sections of King
seam.
D. The true dip of seams is ranging from 1 in 8.6 to 1 in 14. To facilitate working of
Continuous Miner and movement of shuttle cars etc, the main trunks are planned at
a gradient of 1 in 12 to 1 in 14. The pillars are designed to form parallelogram shape
having dimensions ranging from 60 M X 50 M along strike and dip directions
respectively. This design would facilitate easy maneuvering of shuttle cars at the
curves. However, care is taken in the design of the pillar to have an inscribed
square pillar having dimensions of 50 M X 50 M to have better stability during
development and as well as extraction.
E. 220KV OH HT line is passing across the block which is proposed for diversion along
rise side of mine boundary.
F. Tellavagu nallah is originating within the block area and it is proposed to divert the
nallah over the panel barriers.
G. The coal seams in this project are considered as Degree-I gassiness based on the
same seams of the neighbouring mines in Kothagudem area. However, gas survey
will be conducted in all seams as soon as development work starts.

5.5. MODE OF ENTRIES

It is proposed to access the deposit by two vertical shafts and one Incline. One shaft is
of 7.5m diameter and proposed to be utilised as intake airway and man winding,
another shaft is of same diameter and proposed to be utilised as return air shaft. It is
proposed to install belt and haulage in the same incline for transport of coal and
material. Hence, the width of tunnel is designed for 5.5m.
Table - 5.5 :Dimension and purpose of entries

SL No Type of Entry Dimensions Purpose

1 Shaft -1 (DC Shaft) 9.0m Ø x 450m depth Intake airway, Man winding.
2 Shaft – 2 (UC Shaft) 7.5m Ø x 440m depth Return airway
3 Incline 5.5m x 3.5m x 1810m Coal and material transport,
Intake airway.
