Psalms 111-115
Hello, good evening Church…. It is great to be here
with you.
Tonight we are going to continue our journey through
the Old Testament here on Wednesday Nights.
We are going to pick it up in the Book of Psalms, where
we have come to the 111th Psalm, we will go through
Psalm 115 tonight.
So, let’s pray, and then we will get into it…
So, Psalm 111 is another of the Acrostic Psalms,
arranged according to the Hebrew Alphabet.
All, except the opening line of “Praise the Lord.”
Each of the 22 lines of the Psalm 111 begins with a
successive letter of the Hebrew Alphabet…
Of course we are reading it in English, so we will not
read it this way, but this was the original poet’s intent,
to bring continuity and form to the Psalm.
Psalm 111-113, along with 115-117 are all “Hallelujah”
Psalms that either begin with or end with “Praise the
Lord.”
Psalm 111 is titled…
Praise to God for His Faithfulness and Justice
Verse 1 starts off with…
111:1 Praise the Lord!
I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, In the
assembly of the upright and in the congregation.
The Psalmist here starts off with “Praise the Lord” or
Hallelujah in the Hebrew…
This is a call to praise… and as believers we are called
to praise the Lord no matter what season we are in in
our lives.
Sometimes we need the Word of God to remind us of
this, to grab ahold of our thoughts and to lift us out of
those darker seasons that we endure through.
Remember back to Psalm 42…
Ps 42:11 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why
are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall
yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my
God.
The son of Korah who wrote this was in the midst of
self-talk, and giving himself a pep-talk.
He is saying that with all that he knows about God, and
His ability to life me up, “Why are you cast down, O my
soul?”
He gives us the example for when we are in these
times of darkness, to pull ourselves out and start
praising the Lord.
This is more than a positive confession, it is praising
God for who He is, according to His Word.
To bring Him front and center back into our thought
life.
So many things can get us down in one day, things that
bring doom and gloom, and yet in those times, we can
come into the presence of God, and let His Light push
back the darkness… We can praise Him from the core
of our being.
Though our circumstances may not be that great, we
can always rejoice in our God…
Phil 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say,
rejoice!
Look at verse 2 now…
2 The works of the Lord are great, Studied by all who
have pleasure in them. 3 His work is honorable and
glorious, And His righteousness endures forever. 4 He
has made His wonderful works to be remembered; The
Lord is gracious and full of compassion. 5 He has given
food to those who fear Him; He will ever be mindful of
His covenant. 6 He has declared to His people the
power of His works, In giving them the heritage of the
nations.
And this is a great Word to focus in on tonight.
We are living in a time of uncertainty and many are
overwhelmed with the fear of the unknown.
We look at what is happening in our world around us,
and we can be tempted to fear and to be consumed by
all that is happening.
Yet, here we see the Psalmist tells us something that
brings hope and stability to our lives.
He reminds us of the Works of our God, and that they
are great.
Church, that is an important reality, we have this hope
in our God, and we know that He is a Good God.
The Psalmist says here to study His Great Works… and
that is what we do every time we come together in this
place.
We study our God, and His Great Works.
This is why we place so much emphasis on God’s
Word, the Bible in this Church, because this is how we
know our God more intimately as He reveals Himself
through the pages of scripture.
And though we cannot control our circumstances, we
know that God is above all these troubling things in our
world.
God has proven Himself throughout history to be more
powerful than anything than we can face, He is All-
Powerful or Omnipotent.
Trust in that truth tonight.
Notice now how the Psalmist continues on here in
verse 7…
7 The works of His hands are verity and justice; All His
precepts are sure. 8 They stand fast forever and ever,
And are done in truth and uprightness. 9 He has sent
redemption to His people; He has commanded His
covenant forever: Holy and awesome is His name.
Now our world is unjust and unfair. The Government
that is in place especially in this state are wicked
people…
I don’t know if you seen that Monday, our states
attorney general Rob Bonta released all the states
CCW holders’ information to the public.
Judges, law-enforcement, and even victims of violent
crimes who carried for protection are now at risk…
Originally he said it was for transparency, than the
backlash came, and he is now saying that he is
investigating how this happened.
But corruption and really lawlessness is how our
human governments have always ran.
The Psalmist here is looking out at his world, which is
the same world we live in today, there is nothing new
under the sun…
And he sees his need for the Lord and for the Lord’s
strength in his own life.
And he turns his focus and attention to God’s Nature.
And what our God does is always True and Right and
what He commands will come about.
This is witnessed in God’s Great Works in Creation and
really all throughout History.
The reality that God is always True to His Character is
revealed both in His Commandments and His
Covenants.
He was faithful to send redemption to His people, first
shown in the Old Testament as He redeemed Israel
from Bondage.
Showing the image of the even greater promise of
redemption that would come through Jesus Christ,
God’s Son.
This was a Promise given back all the way in Genesis, in
the Garden, when God told Satan…
Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel."
This was the first prophetic promise given, and it was
spoken in Truth, God did send His Son, as the Seed of a
woman, to crush Satan’s head, and bring about the
plan of salvation.
Jesus Fulfilled this in His Life and Ministry, and the
Work accomplished upon the Cross.
The Psalmist also makes reference here about the
Name of God being Holy and Awesome.
This reference shows us that God can only be true to
His Name and that He cannot deny His Nature.
In the King James Version it states that His Name is
Holy and Reverend.
His Name is the only Name Reverend should be
attached too.
Nobody else can live up to that title and yet it is given
out so freely in Christian circles today.
The Reverend or the Most High Reverend are not for
men to have… there is nothing reverend about Gary
Malkus…
We don’t need to one up our God’s title… Man is so
fickle and really arrogant…
So this Psalm finishes out with verse 10…
10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A
good understanding have all those who do His
commandments. His praise endures forever.
This Word “Fear” in the original Hebrew language is
expressed differently depending on context.
The Word here is “Yare,” it can mean being afraid or
fearful, except when used in the context of a person in
an exalted place, like the Lord.
In this context it means that we are in awe of Him,
remember, He alone is Reverend and therefore shall
be revered by us, His people.
This awe or reverence is the beginning of wisdom…
When we humble ourselves and recognize Him for who
He is, we are able to fully seek Him and Submit to His
Will and Authority.
Then and only then can we approach Him with this
idea of seeking His Wisdom.
As long as I still have the idea I can figure things out, I
am usurping God’s Wisdom.
Fearing Him and Reverencing Him leads to me obeying
His Word and I learn too that He has my life in His
hands.
My life’s direction is in His hands…
I will be honest with you all tonight, I don’t always
know what God wants for my life.
James said this…
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of
God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach,
and it will be given to him.
Sometimes we need to just sit quietly before the Lord
and wait for His wisdom in our current situation.
So often we just move out into something because we
don’t hear from the Lord, wait because He promises
wisdom.
Be in Awe of Him and He whose Name is Holy and
Reverent will give wisdom.
So let’s move into Psalm 112 now titled…
The Blessed State of the Righteous
Here we have another Acrostic Psalm, thought to be a
companion Psalm to Psalm 111, there are similarities.
Look at verse 1 with me…
112:1 Praise the Lord!
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights
greatly in His commandments.
Here is that same call to Praise the Lord…
This was both the personal praise of the Psalmist and
really an exhortation to others to Praise Him.
Along with Reverence, this Psalmist states the blessing
of the person who delights in the commandments of
the Lord…
Ps 119:9-11 How can a young man cleanse his way?
By taking heed according to Your word.
10 With my whole heart I have sought You;
Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
11 Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.
Again this shows the fear of the Lord is not to cower in
fear, we can reverence Him and still be delighted in His
Word.
We should be looking forward to spending time in His
Word, corporately and individual.
He continues this thought with this… in verse 2…
2 His descendants will be mighty on earth; The
generation of the upright will be blessed. 3 Wealth and
riches will be in his house, And his righteousness
endures forever. 4 Unto the upright there arises light
in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion,
and righteous. 5 A good man deals graciously and
lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion.
The person who delights himself or herself in God’s
Word, it comes with a promise not just to our lives but
also into the lives of our descendants.
A godly heritage is what we desire to pass along to our
kids and grandkids, nieces and nephews…
Prov. 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.
“His descendants will be mighty on the earth.”
So are the power, wealth, and position the natural
inheritance of those brought up in a home where the
Lord and His Word are honored?
We must remember the Old Testament setting of the
Psalms, in the Old Testament times domestic blessings
Page 11 of 28
were promised to those who were obedient to the
covenant.
However, in Christ, the blessing is a spiritual blessing…
Matt 5:3-12 "Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for
righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for
righteousness' sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute
you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My
sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is
Page 12 of 28
your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the
prophets who were before you.
So, we see the spiritual highlighted in the believer’s life
today… we are to focus on the eternal not the material
wealth.
The Psalmist also shows us that when material
blessings come, the righteous will not be stingy with it
or horde it…
Notice, a good man is gracious, and he gives and lends,
but he does so with discretion.
You do not need to give money to everyone who asks
you for money…
I see almost daily, at least weekly people lying on the
street here, and sometimes I am not sure if the
fentanyl has killed them or not.
The other day, I was leaving, and Jess needed me
home quickly, so I was in a hurry.
But right there in front of the Mosque on the sidewalk,
in the direct sunlight there is a guy, and he looks dead,
he does not look like he is breathing, not moving at
all…
So, I was like, “You know what, I need to check on that
guy…”
So I turned around and rolled down my window, and
shouted “Hey man, you dead?”
And I was just about to get out to shake him up, I
shouted one more time, and like a cartoon or
something, he popped up so quick…
And I said, “Are you okay, you looked dead?”
And he answered my question with another question,
“Hey do you have some money I can have for a beer?”
So, I did not think it was wisdom to give the guy money
to put more poison in his body.
We are to be generous, but we are to be wise…
The gentlemen knew that if he needed food the
Church was here for him, but we don’t need to help
people get loaded.
So be willing to give, but use discretion.
Listen to the Holy Spirit, and do not hold on so tightly
that you miss an opportunity to bless someone in the
Name of Jesus.
Next we have another promise for the person who
delights themselves in the Lord… Verse 6…
6 Surely he will never be shaken; The righteous will be
in everlasting remembrance. 7 He will not be afraid of
evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
8 His heart is established; He will not be afraid, Until he
sees his desire upon his enemies.
The righteous man is not shaken, the one who walks in
tune with the Lord and is Gracious toward others will
have an everlasting remembrance.
Prov. 10:7 The memory of the righteous is blessed,
But the name of the wicked will rot.
We have this promise to here that the godly will not be
shaken by what is happening in this world.
And there is a lot happening that can shake a person
right now…
John Phillips says here…
“He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed,
trusting in the LORD.” Even the best of persons at times
is overtaken by ill tidings. A loved one dies, the bank
fails, lightning strikes, fire or flood cause damage, war is
declared. God does not take us out of the world nor
does He exempt us from life’s ordinary disasters. What
He does is allow us to rest our hearts on Him. We may
not be able to praise Him for what happens, but we can
praise Him in what happens. Bad news need not shake
us; God is still on the throne.
So, the Psalmist ends this Psalm here starting in verse
9…
9 He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor;
His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be
exalted with honor. 10 The wicked will see it and be
grieved; He will gnash his teeth and melt away; The
desire of the wicked shall perish.
Once again we are to be generous.
Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 25…
Matt 25:34-36 Then the King will say to those on His
right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit
the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of
the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I
was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger
and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed
Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and
you came to Me.'
Now there is a special context for those verses, with
how those in the Tribulation will deal with God’s
People.
But it also shows us what is important to our God…
And although we do not offer money to the homeless
around the Church, we do offer them food, soaps,
water and other items.
And you see the pastors have built a relationship with
the poor in the neighborhood… And they come in all
throughout the week.
And the greatest thing that we offer them is the Gospel
of Jesus Christ, an offer to change their their life.
But the Church is to be generous to the poor, and you
know some days we get yelled at, cursed at, and the
same individuals will come in, because they know they
will be loved and heard and cared for when they are in
need.
God’s people are a generous people…
We are not even to be generous to those who love us
back… Listen to what Paul said in…
Rom. 12:17-21 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard
for good things in the sight of all men. 18 If it is
possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably
with all men. 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves,
but rather give place to wrath; for it is written,
"Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. 20
Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
If he is thirsty, give him a drink;
For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head."
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with
good.
Generosity is a hallmark to our faith….
Look now at Psalm 113 titled…
The Majesty and Condescension of God
The Book of Psalms has three distinct groups called
Hallel, and Psalms 113-118 are known as the Egyptian
Hallel.
This collection is called this primarily because of their
connection to the Passover Feast, which memorializes
Israel’s deliverance from Egypt.
The Psalms of the Egyptian Hallel were actually sung as
part of the Passover Feast, with 113-114 sung before
the meal and 115-118 sung after the meal.
So, place yourself in the Upper Room with Jesus, and
picture Him and all the disciples singing these songs,
because they would have on that special Passover
evening.
It would have been so wonderful to be able to hear
them sing these Psalms…
But we can use our imaginations here…
Verse 1…
113:1 Praise the Lord!
Praise, O servants of the Lord, Praise the name of the
Lord! 2 Blessed be the name of the Lord From this time
forth and forevermore! 3 From the rising of the sun to
its going down The Lord's name is to be praised.
Once again we are compelled by the Psalmist to Praise
the Lord.
This time by raising up His Name and Blessing the
Name of the Lord.
What does it mean to lift up His Name?
Well, one thing that comes to mind is His Name
defines His Character.
We know when Moses met with God in the Book of
Exodus and God passed by Him in…
Ex. 34:5-6 Now the Lord descended in the cloud and
stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the
Lord. 6 And the Lord passed before him and
proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and
Page 18 of 28
gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness
and truth
His Name describes His Character, so lifting up His
Name is Praise for His Mercy, His Grace and His
patience…
The Psalmist is saying to us that God has a Good Name
and it defines who He is and He is completely worthy
of our praise from this day and into eternity.
From the moment we awake in the Morning until we
close our eyes at night, God is worthy to be praised
and should be on our hearts and minds.
With the world the way it is, we need to keep our
hearts and minds steadfast on Him.
Paul said in… Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things
are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things
are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are
lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is
any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy —
meditate on these things.
The prophet Isaiah said in Isa 26:3
You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.
Verse 4 now…
4 The Lord is high above all nations, His glory above the
heavens. 5 Who is like the Lord our God, Who dwells
Page 19 of 28
on high, 6 Who humbles Himself to behold The things
that are in the heavens and in the earth?
Our God is so Big and so Mighty that to look upon the
things in heaven or upon the earth it takes a true
humbling of God.
He is High Above it all, the nations that rage even, He is
above the heavens…
He is an infinite God and He is beyond our capacity to
really fully understand His True Greatness…
My kids were singing all last week, from VBS, “Our God
is an awesome God He reigns.”
But we really only understand a fraction of how
awesome He truly is.
He is higher than the heavens and yet stoops down so
low that nothing on earth can occur without His
knowledge.
He is infinitely high and yet still intimately close to us.
God is both superior and humbly with us.
Do you think the disciples really understood the God
who created the heavens and the earth was sitting
with them at that Passover table singing these hymns
with them?
That is something to imagine.
So the Psalmist ends this short Psalm with verse 7-9…
Page 20 of 28
7 He raises the poor out of the dust, And lifts the
needy out of the ash heap, 8 That He may seat him
with princes — With the princes of His people. 9 He
grants the barren woman a home, Like a joyful mother
of children.
God is a great equalizer and He is not a respecter of
persons.
He is capable of taking a lowly shepherd boy and
raising him up to be a great king.
He can set you before kings and rulers and He can use
your lowly life to impact the world, for His Glory.
So Psalm 114 now, it is titled…
Praise the Lord!
The Power of God in His Deliverance of Israel (cf. Ex
14)
This Psalm demonstrates how God engineered nature
to bring the Hebrews out of Egypt.
He mentions both the parting of the Red Sea and the
holding back of the Jordan River…
Verse 1…
114:1 When Israel went out of Egypt, The house of
Jacob from a people of strange language, 2 Judah
became His sanctuary, And Israel His dominion.
Now, Israel’s deliverance from Egypt was the central
act of redemption under the Old Covenant.
It was to be remembered and celebrated… and this
song joins in the celebration.
This Act of Deliverance and Redemption was a
foreshadow of Jesus and for us who are under the New
Covenant the Work of Jesus on the Cross and His
Empty tomb became the central Act of Redemption for
all of mankind.
We are likewise called to constantly remember and
celebrate what God did to set us free by dying on the
cross for us.
As Israel sings to remember, our own memories are
triggered by songs.
I know every time I hear “How Great is our God” it
takes me back to the Jobsite when I was just set free of
my addictions.
God conquered something that had me conquered for
so long, and when that Chris Tomlin song came on, I
would just sing from the depths of my heart, “How
Great is our God!”
It still hits me every time as I remember the Lord’s
redemption in my own life.
We have so much to sing about Church… So did Israel.
The Israelites were purchased by God from slavery to
be His dwelling place.
The tabernacle was temporary, as Judah was God’s
sanctuary…
So today, we are individually considered the Temple of
the Holy Spirit.
The Lord dwells in us and works through us in this
mysterious and wonderful life that we live as believers
today.
Look at verse 3 now…
3 The sea saw it and fled; Jordan turned back. 4 The
mountains skipped like rams, The little hills like lambs.
5 What ails you, O sea, that you fled? O Jordan, that
you turned back? 6 O mountains, that you skipped like
rams? O little hills, like lambs?
Remember when God delivered Israel from the
bondage there in Egypt, the sea folded back and they
were able to walk across on dry ground.
When Joshua led Israel into Canaan, God stopped the
Jordan River, and again they marched across.
When they came to Mt. Sinai where the Lord gave
Moses the Law, there was a huge earthquake and the
rocks were torn.
And the Israelites had this powerful testimony of
watching these mighty things on this earth tremble
before God.
Verse 7 now…
7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, At the
presence of the God of Jacob, 8 Who turned the rock
into a pool of water, The flint into a fountain of waters.
Two times while wandering in the wilderness God
brought water from the rock.
Remember at the instruction of God the first time,
Moses struck the Rock.
The second time Moses was instructed to speak to the
Rock, but he struck it instead, and this cost him from
crossing over into the Promise Land.
The picture is this, Jesus is our Rock and on the very
night that He sang these very Psalms with His disciples
at the Last Supper, He knew that He was about to be
struck upon the cross.
And thankfully, because of His work on the cross, today
all we have to do is speak to Jesus, who is our Rock,
and Living Water will come from Him to overflow our
lives.
John 7:37-38 On the last day, that great day of the
feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone
thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who
believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his
heart will flow rivers of living water."
Let’s finish up tonight with Psalm 115… titled…
The Futility of Idols and the Trustworthiness of God
Page 24 of 28
Psalm 115 is a continuation of the Egyptian Hallel
Psalms sung at the Passover.
Once again, hold in your imagination, Jesus and His
disciples singing these and the very night that He was
betrayed and arrested in the Garden.
Verse 1 now…
115:1 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, But to Your
name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of
Your truth. 2 Why should the Gentiles say, "So where is
their God?"
So, the Psalmist did right by attributing Glory unto God
and not unto man.
There is this tendency in mankind to want to be caught
up in the Glory of the Good things that God is doing in
our midst.
People see God using you and they forget that it is all
by the gifts that God releases in us that we have the
ability and power to do any kind of ministry.
God forbid that we should look to man, “Not unto us,
but to Your Name Lord.”
That should be the goal of our ministry, to make Jesus
famous, to bring Glory to His Name.
May we learn to remain content and to stay away from
the Glory?
Look at verse 3 now…
3 But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He
pleases. 4 Their idols are silver and gold, The work of
men's hands. 5 They have mouths, but they do not
speak; Eyes they have, but they do not see; 6 They
have ears, but they do not hear; Noses they have, but
they do not smell; 7 They have hands, but they do not
handle; Feet they have, but they do not walk; Nor do
they mutter through their throat. 8 Those who make
them are like them; So is everyone who trusts in them.
This all aligns with the Law written in Deut. 4:15-19
"Take careful heed to yourselves, for you saw no form
when the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the midst
of the fire, 16 lest you act corruptly and make for
yourselves a carved image in the form of any figure:
the likeness of male or female, 17 the likeness of any
animal that is on the earth or the likeness of any
winged bird that flies in the air, 18 the likeness of
anything that creeps on the ground or the likeness of
any fish that is in the water beneath the earth. 19 And
take heed, lest you lift your eyes to heaven, and when
you see the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the host
of heaven, you feel driven to worship them and serve
them, which the Lord your God has given to all the
peoples under the whole heaven as a heritage.
It is the Lord who delivered us not some idol or trinket
with an image on it…
Verse 9 now…
9 O Israel, trust in the Lord; He is their help and their
shield. 10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord; He is
their help and their shield. 11 You who fear the Lord,
trust in the Lord; He is their help and their shield.
12 The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless us;
He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the
house of Aaron. 13 He will bless those who fear the
Lord, Both small and great.
Unlike the false gods who are unable to act or do
anything really, the One True God helps those who
trust in Him.
Never forget that our God is a Blessing God.
Throughout the History of Israel when God’s People
gathered to worship they always heard the same
priestly pronouncement.
Num. 6:24-26 "The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace."'
God wanted this truth instilled into their hearts and
minds, “The Lord Bless you.”
So he ends the Psalm with this, starting in verse 14…
Page 27 of 28
14 May the Lord give you increase more and more, You
and your children. 15 May you be blessed by the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's; But
the earth He has given to the children of men. 17 The
dead do not praise the Lord, Nor any who go down
into silence. 18 But we will bless the Lord From this
time forth and forevermore.
Praise the Lord!
We are so blessed by our Maker, the God who made
the heavens and the earth.
Church, I am not sure if you get the Daily Devotions
that Chelsea sends out throughout the week from the
office.
But you can go to our website and go to the bottom
and input your email and she will send you prayer
requests and daily devotions throughout the week.
So, this mornings was from Chuck Smith, and he spoke
of Christs soon return and how we need to warn this
world of the impending judgement that is coming.
He said…
The prospect of the coming of the Lord should inspire
singing and rejoicing in our hearts. As I look at the
world today, I don't see much to rejoice in or to sing
over. My heart weeps for the abounding evil we see
around us. Nothing in this world inspires the kind of
rejoicing the prophet refers to in this passage.

Every day that passes brings us one day closer to that
glorious day- that day of singing and rejoicing when the
Lord shall come and dwell in the midst of the people.
We live in momentous times when events are coming
together to usher in the return of Jesus. As long as God
gives us breath, we need to warn others of the evil
days to come, but we also need to proclaim the
glorious day that is coming - the day of the Lord's
return.
Church we are living in incredible times, the Lord Jesus
is coming back soon, first for His Church, then He will
come to rule and reign.
Let this Word encourage you tonight, Draw near to
Him and let your heart say, “Praise the Lord.”
Let’s pray…
