4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Eye Contact In case of contact with substance, immediately flush skin or eyes with running water for at least
20 minutes. Call a physician immediately.
Skin Contact Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove and wash
contaminated clothing before re-use. Consult a physician.
Inhalation Move victim to fresh air. Apply artificial respiration if victim is not breathing. Administer oxygen
if breathing is difficult. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Ingestion Rinse mouth. Drink plenty of water. Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to
an unconscious person. Call a physician or Poison Control Center immediately.
Notes to Physician Treat symptomatically. Keep victim warm and quiet. Product is a corrosive material. Use of
gastric lavage or emesis is contraindicated. Possible perforation of stomach or esophagus
should be investigated. Do not give chemical antidotes. Asphyxia from glottal edema may
occur. Marked decrease in blood pressure may occur with moist rales, frothy sputum, and high
pulse pressure.
Protection of First-aiders Ensure that medical personnel are aware of the material(s) involved, and take precautions to
protect themselves. Do not use mouth-to-mouth method if victim ingested or inhaled the
substance; induce artificial respiration with the aid of a pocket mask equipped with a one-way
valve or other proper respiratory medical device.
