2. Explain the common pronunciation problems Nigerian students have, especially in
phonemes, stress, and intonation, and the correct ways of pronouncing them.

(b) Discuss the three basic listening types.
(c) Discuss five factors that hinder active listening?
4. (a) What is reading?
(b) Extensively discuss five purposes of reading.
(c) Explain the SQ3R study techniques and how they can be used in examination
preparation.
(d) Discuss fully four faulty reading habits and explain how they can be eradicated.
5. Giving adequate examples, explain the word formation processes laying emphasis on how
they help in creating new words.
