Greetings everyone, my name is ... .I’m a student of class ….
,Minh
Nghia secondary school. Today I will be presenting on the topic of
solutions for disaster prevention and climate change adaptation
As you can see, The term “climate change” refers to the long-term alteration of
Earth’s temperature and weather patterns, primarily caused by human
activities. It also leads to natural disasters every year, cause many problems
that can affect the environment, and result in financial, environmental and
human [Link] disasters or calamity is the effect of a naural hazar,
such as earthquake, storm, flood, tsunami, etc… Human choices and
activities such as architecture, resource management or even climate change
have the potential to play a role in causing natural disasters . We may not be
able to handle and prevent this from happening in time, but scientists can
predict when a disaster will occur.
Because of this risk, I am here to present to everyone my personal views on
how to prevent natural disasters and quickly adapt to the reality of climate
change. I believe that we can all overcome these risks together, by referring to
my following measures.
The first thing is to raise awareness of potential hazards and how to deal with
them. This is done through education, propaganda and even in the press. For
example, our students have been reminded about disaster prevention and
adaptation by adults and on the news. Secondly, to deal with climate change,
humans need to limit their indiscriminate exploitation activities. Their daily
activities can also have a very important impact on the environment, maybe
can cause unexpected problems. We see that reducing waste by recycling,
composting and limiting the use of single-use plastics helps reduce
greenhouse gas emissions from landfills. Thirdly, to prevent natural disasters
and adapt to climate change more easily, we need to pay special attention to
the terrain around our homes, or else it can be called Critical Infrastructure.
Protecting critical infrastructure during a disaster can mean the difference
between life and death. Critical infrastructure, which comprises the systems
and assets vital to a community’s economy, security, and public health,
deserves special attention as regards disaster management mitigation. As an
example, setting up protective measures that limit damage to water and
wastewater systems or nuclear plants, for example, can prevent serious
repercussions...
Finally, as people continue to build and develop their places, young people
like us should also do our part to make a difference. Young people are also a
potential resource to create positive solutions to the problems the earth is
facing. We should not only focus on using technological devices efficiently but
also engage in green activities such as recycling and reuse, which help reduce
waste and environmental pollution. “Climate change” is not only the
responsibility of a country or an organization, but young people have, are and
will always be able to contribute by participating in some simple actions such
as: Using renewable energy, Using recyclable packaging and saving
resources, Reducing carbon emissions from a personal perspective,
Participating in environmental protection activities(like planting more trees, not
using plastic bags, collecting marine waste...).
Until now, the future of the whole world lies in the hope of our young
generation. Each of us can always do the smallest things right now to protect
the future of humans. I hope this speech can truly inspire young people
around the world, so that they can realize their urgent mission at this time to
protect our Earth.
To sum up, we have explored various aspects of preventing natural disasters
and adapting to climate change , highlighting the role of young generation
towards the earth. Thank you for your listening, I appreciate the opportunity to
share my thoughts today.
