ETS CHECK UP 1:

M: Hello. I’m calling because I’d like to temporarily stop my mail delivery. I’m
going to be out of town for the next 2 weeks.
W: Certainly. We can hold your mail here at post office for you. But you’ll need to put in
your request at least a day before you leave.
M: That sounds great. Do I need to come into the office and complete a form.
W: No, actually, you have to submit the “ hold mail” form on our Web site.

W: Your order for your office party Tuesday afternoon should be ready on Tuesday
morning.
M: Great, but Id’ like to pick it up on Monday if that’s OK. I’ll be busy with clients on
Tuesday morning.
W: I’d advise against that- the food won’t stay fresh. We could deliver the food to your
office on Tuesday morning. if you’d like, it’s really much better if it’s fresh.
M: That would be a great help. Thank you.
ETS CHECK UP 2:
M:I didn’t see you on the other day at Mr.Tanaka’s presentation. It was really interesting-
he talked about a lot of exciting new projects the research department’s been
working on, like robotics.
W: I heard- I’m sorry. I missed it. It was just too busy to go.Those inventions sound
really amazing. What did you think of Mr.Tanaka ?
M: I think he has a very clear vision of the future- of what customers are going to need
10 years from now. We’re really lucky to have a research director who’s so forward-
thinking.

M: Hi Mary, have you decided to stay with us another year ?

W: I don’t think I will. I’m trying to get a job at a different school for next year.
M: You are ? Really ? I thought you liked it here.
W: I do like it here. This is a great school, and I’ll have to leave, but I’d really prefer
to teach younger children.

Q1-3:
M: good afternoon.I currently subscribe to your Gold pan satellite television package.I’d
like to switch to the Platinum plan because there are some new movie channels that I’d
like to watch.
W: Of course, I’d be happy to help you upgrade your subscription. Could you spell your
last name for me so that I can look up your account.
M: Yes, it’s K-W-A-N.when should I expect to have access to the extra channels.
W: Your account will reset tomorrow at 6:00, so you’ll be able to watch them first thing
in the morning. I just want to remind you that an extra 15 dollars will appear on your next
monthly bill for this expanded service.
Q 13-15:
M: Hi, This is Steven Lim. I applied for a receptionist position in Dr.Houston’s office 2
weeks ago. I was wondering if the position had been filled.
W: Hi, Mr.Lim. Well, no. In fact, I was just about to call you because you’re one of the
applicants we have selected for an interview.
Could you come in this week ? sometime between Tuesday and Friday ?
M: Sure, Wednesday would work best for me, Eleven thirty ?
W: Yes, that’s okay. Please remember that there won’t be anyone at the reception desk,
so come straight to room 12 and ask to speak with Maureen Horgan.
