Dog House Rules
General house rules:
• Guests can bring one dog no larger than a Labrador.
• We ask that dogs be over the age of 1 year, house trained, with vaccinations, worming and flea
treatments all up to date. We kindly ask that you don’t bring your dog if she is in season.
• We do not permit banned breeds on our premises.
• There will be a charge of £40 per night and a pre-authorisation of £500.
• Please check in at reception, there’s a small amount of pet paperwork to read and sign before you can
all relax and enjoy your stay. We kindly ask that you leave your dog secured outside while you do this.
• Dogs must be kept on a lead and under control at all times when visiting a PIG. We have livestock,
poultry and wildlife in the gardens and grounds that dogs may chase.
• Please be careful to pick up after your dog, waste bins can be found in the car park and around the
grounds. Our team will be happy to show you where they’re located.
• There are outside hoses and towels for muddy paws (and boots!) we’d be happy to show you where
these are.
• We are unable to accommodate dogs who are aggressive or who continually bark and disturb other
guests. You will be asked to remove dog from the premises in this situation.
Staying with your dog:
• Kindly note that dogs are not permitted in the main house, indoor restaurants, bars or communal
guest areas. They are very welcome to join you on our outside terraces, The Village Pub, The Folly
and The Lobster Shed.
• Please do not take them into the Kitchen Gardens for hygiene reasons.
• We will provide a crate so that your dog can be secured while in your room and when left unattended
while you head over to the restaurant to eat.
• We will provide bowls and a dog blanket in the room.
• For your dog’s comfort and to avoid unsettling them, we will not provide an evening turndown
service. Should you wish to have a turndown or housekeeping, we can do this while you take your dog
out for a walk before dinner.
• We recommend bringing your dog’s bedding with you, the familiarity of something from home will
help them to settle in.
• Please do not let your dog on any of the furniture or the bed, any damage caused by your dog will
incur a full replacement charge.
• We ask that you use the outside tap to clean your dog after walks. Please ask at reception for a dog
towel.
• We expect dogs to be fully house trained. If there are any “accidents” in the room, please let us know
immediately. There will be a cleaning charge.
• We are unable to accommodate dogs who are aggressive or who continually bark
Assistance (Guide) Dogs:
Assistance dogs are working animals, not pets, and their owners rely on them for independence and mobility.
As such, we do allow registered assistance dogs inside the main hotels and restaurants across THE PIGs.
