"Snake Follow" Game
Get everyone to line up behind the teacher. Get
Motivatio everyone to shout "Where are you going?" and
on that prompt the teacher shouts back "Over
n here!" - then start walking to a different part of
the classroom, with everyone following in a line
behind you (like a snake).
Keep doing this as you snake your way around
the classroom at different speeds. Other
students can also have a go at being the head
of the snake

Activity A: Introduce the vocabulary: Hold up each
flashcard and teach the word. Have students

Get everyone to close their eyes as you place
each card from the first set around the room
(e.g. place the canteen card in the corner, the
classroom card under a desk, etc.). Next, tell
everyone to open their eyes. Give a card (e.g.
canteen) from the second set to a student.
Have the following conversation (model).
"Teacher: "Where are you going?"
Student: "I’m going to the canteen
The student must then search for the canteen
flashcard. When she/he finds it she/he can
return to you for another card.

other team can try to guess the word and steal
the point.

numbers 1-10 on the board and have everyone
shout out the numbers as you write them.
Next, write the multiples of ten
(10,20,30….100). Then chorus each number in
turn (10, 20, 30, etc.) and run through 10-100 a
few times, each time getting faster and faster.
The teacher then calls on volunteers to say
more complicated numbers, such as 23, 56,
and 84.
B: Conversation Practice: Put the class into
pairs. Have each pair practice the conversation,

2. "Group Bingo” Game- Students form
groups of four. Each student is given a piece of
cardstock with a number on it from 1 to 100.
The teacher will
randomly call out numbers. If a student is
holding a number that was called,
he or she stands up. Once all four group
members are standing, they shout “Bingo!”
and win the game. The teacher asks the
students to look at their number and make sure
they know how to say it in English. They are
encouraged to ask their group members for
help

is my father.’, ‘This is my mother.’, and so on.
When they meet, they should stop and have a
dialogue using the key expressions. For
example,

A. Introduce the vocabulary: Hold up a clock
Main and set a time (e.g. 4 o’clock). Ask the class

through the hours teaching the times from the
