2. Introduce the major LCs and LTs for the week. Then highlight Day 2 learning target.

Lesson Development
Pre-lesson:

Present two pictures of different situations.
Post these questions:

lesson.

Lesson Proper:
1. To unlock their skills in identifying the risk factors, let the student do the activity.
Activity: Spot the Risk Factors

Let the student list the possible key risk factors they notice. They must pay close attention to any details about the location, environment,
buildings, and what the people in the scenario are doing.

2. Let student post their answers. These are the things that might make the disaster more likely or more severe.
3. Discuss the different risk factor underlying disaster.
4. Discuss why understanding these risk factors is important for disaster preparedness and mitigation.
5. Highlight any common themes or particularly impactful factors specifically based on the activity earlier.
6. Action Plan Development Task
Let the students to work by group to come up with at least one simple action for each type of risk factor. In 1 whole sheet of paper, the
students are given 30 minutes to discuss and work with their groupmates.
(Relational/Extended Abstract)
Guide questions:
1. Briefly explain how each action you propose will help mitigate the risk. Why is this action important? How will it help prevent or
reduce the impact of the disaster?

2. Sharing and Discussion.
Have 1 reporter per group to share their suggested actions with the class.
3. Discuss the feasibility and impact of these actions, encouraging other students to contribute additional ideas or improvements.

Post Lesson:
1. Recap the different risk factors underlying disasters. Give time to students to determine these factors and enhance their
understanding.
2. Provide supplements to enhance their understanding about risk factors and give situations wherein students can relate these factors to
real-life events.
