Wrap-up
Dear Editor,
I am writing to warn all the readers: never go to Chef King’s Kitchen
I (1) have been (be) a regular customer of Chef King’s Kitchen, but my recent visit is likely to be the
last.
When I entered the restaurant, I noticed that a lot of familiar faces (2) were missing (miss). In their
place was a completely new staff. While I (3) was thinking (think) about what to order, a waiter put
down a pot of hot tea right next to my hand and walked away. I (4) burned (burn) with rage, but my
family calmed me down. So I continued to read the menu and then we ordered. After a while, their famous
ginseng chicken soup arrived. But I was shocked when I finished the soup. At the bottom of the soup bowl was
a large, dead fly! All of us spat out what was in our mouths. I ran towards the manager to make a complaint.
The manager (5) was not paying (not/pay) attention when I told what had happened. He was rude
and did not give us a satisfactory explanation so we decided to leave. While we (6) were waiting (wait)
for the lift, the manager ran towards us with the bill and told us to pay for the dishes. We were so angry and
said to ourselves this would be our last visit.
Even though Chef King’s Kitchen (7) has won (win) many awards since it opened and (8) has
always maintained (maintain) a high standard of food, their terrible hygiene and services disappointed
me completely. They are going to open a new restaurant next month and (9) will serve (serve) free
meals to the customers. This is really worrying. I hope Chef King’s Kitchen (10) is (be) able to read this
letter and make changes accordingly.
Disappointed customer,
Joey Yu
