Ben Whittaker is a 70-year-old widower and retiree who feels bored with nothing to do.
He
decides he wants to work again, so he signs up for a senior internship program at an online fashion
company called About the Fit. This company was founded and is run by Jules Ostin, a very
successful young businesswoman.
At first, Jules is not very happy with the idea of having an elderly intern like Ben. However, Ben
quickly proves to be very helpful. He works hard, has a lot of experience, and always maintains a
positive attitude. In addition to learning to handle the company's new technologies, Ben becomes
a mentor and friend to the younger employees.
Over time, Ben becomes Jules's personal driver and confidant. Jules has many problems in her
professional and personal life. At work, investors want her to hire a CEO to replace her, putting her
under a lot of pressure. At home, her marriage to Matt is in trouble, especially since Matt left his
career to take care of their daughter Paige. Jules also struggles to balance her work and family life.
Ben and Jules develop a close friendship. Ben gives Jules good advice on how to handle stress and
life's difficulties, and he supports her decision to remain the CEO of her company. He also helps
Jules face the problems in her marriage, including Matt's infidelity. In the end, Jules decides to give
her marriage a second chance and work on her relationship with Matt while continuing to lead her
company with the same passion and determination.
The movie ends with Jules reaffirming her role as a leader and mother, and Ben finding a new
sense of purpose and belonging in his new job and among his new friends. The story highlights the
importance of friendship between people of different generations, the empowerment of women,
and the balance between personal and professional life.
