1. Introduction

Welcome to the Business Management System (BMS) user manual. This guide is designed to
help you use the system efficiently, whether you are an administrator, manager, or employee. The
BMS is developed to streamline business operations including client management, project
tracking, and task management.

2. System Requirements

 A computer with an internet connection


 A modern web browser (e.g., Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari)
 Access credentials provided by your system administrator

3. User Roles and Access

 Administrator: Has full access to all system features, including user and role
management, and system configurations.
 Manager: Can manage clients, assign tasks, generate reports, and track project progress.
 Employee: Can view assigned tasks, log work hours, and update task status.
4. Getting Started
Logging In

1. Open your web browser and navigate to the BMS login page.
2. Enter your username and password.
3. Click the "Login" button.

Logging Out

1. Click on your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen.
2. Select "Logout" from the dropdown menu.

Adding New Users

1. Navigate to the "User Management" section.


2. Click the "Add New User" button.
3. Fill in the required user details (name, email, role, etc.).
4. Click "Save" to create the new user account.

Managing User Roles

1. Go to the "User Management" section.


2. Find the user you want to update and click the "Edit" button next to their name.
3. Select the appropriate role from the dropdown menu.
4. Click "Save" to update the user's role.

Configuring System Settings

1. Navigate to the "System Settings" section.


2. Adjust the settings as needed (e.g., task completion deadlines, notification preferences).
3. Click "Save" to apply the changes.

Adding New Clients

1. Go to the "Client Management" section.


2. Click the "Add New Client" button.
3. Enter client details (company name, contact information, etc.).
4. Click "Save" to add the client to the system.

Managing Projects

1. Navigate to the "Project Management" section.


2. Click on an existing project to view or update its details.
3. Use the "Add New Project" button to create a new project, providing necessary details
like deadlines and team assignments.
4. Click "Save" to finalize any changes.

Generating Reports

1. Navigate to the "Reports" section.


2. Select the report type (e.g., project progress, financial summary).
3. Apply necessary filters (e.g., date range, client).
4. Click "Generate" to create the report, which can be downloaded or printed.

Viewing Assigned Tasks

1. Go to the "My Tasks" section.


2. View the list of assigned tasks with their respective deadlines.
3. Click on a task for detailed instructions and relevant files.

Updating Task Status

1. Navigate to the "My Tasks" section.


2. Click on the task you are working on.
3. Select the appropriate status (e.g., "In Progress," "Completed").
4. Click "Save" to update the task.

Logging Work Hours

1. Go to the "Time Tracking" section.


2. Enter the hours worked for each task.
3. Click "Submit" to log your hours.

8. Troubleshooting
Common Issues

 Forgot Password: Click the "Forgot Password" link on the login page and follow the
instructions to reset your password.
 Cannot View Assigned Tasks: Ensure your internet connection is stable and that you are
logged in with the correct credentials. Contact the administrator if issues persist.
