IV. PERSONAL EVALUATION OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM
A. Reaction paper on the following areas:
1. Professional Learning and Development Achieved
I am able to learn and to widen my knowledge about certain things in Civil Engineering industry. I have
gained some experience that I may use someday in the future when I am working as a Civil Engineer or
working in a construction industry. Also, I have learned some few stuffs about doing a cost estimate and
other tricks that I can use when I am visiting a construction site.
2. Modern Techniques, Skills, and Tools Used/Applied
PDF Measure Tool. It is a website that I have found when I am doing some office works at the office,
Basically it is used to measure distance on the architectural plans, for me it is very helpful especially when
you do not have an application to measure distance and a PDF file can be used to use this website.
WPS Sheets and Google Sheets. These applications are the one that I used when I am assigned to do a
cost estimate at the office, it is used to list down the measurements and quantities.
3. Experiences with the Company Personnel Involved in the Training
I became a site coordinator/inspector so I have experienced how it is to be in a construction site, how it
feels, how to be a site coordinator/inspector. I also became a purchaser, so I experienced also to go to
hardware to buy items and materials that are needed for each construction sites, and lastly I also learned
how to do a cost estimate at the office.
4. Best Practices Used/Applied
For me the best practice that I have used/applied is the way how I approach and communicate with new
people. I noticed that during my OJT training I developed the way how I approach and communicate with a
stranger, I became more confident and I exactly know how I need to answer a stranger. I think that the way
how I approach other people and how I communicate with them will still improve because I, myself are
willing to do everything to be better on what I am doing.
5. Strong Points
For me, one strong point of mine is the way how I wanted to grow my knowledge and have better skills
than my past self. I am willing to listen and learn even if it is hard, I still want to learn something new or
something unique.
6. Weak Points and Suggested Solutions
For me, one of my weak points is that I am afraid to take risks. And only one suggested solutions is needed
to solve this weak point, and that is by overcoming those fears.
V. RECOMMENDATIONS
A. Potential of the company as a training ground
1. Availability and appropriateness of facilities, equipment, and machinery.
For me, based on availability and appropriateness of facilities, equipment, and machinery, I would
recommend Reliant Builders and Management OPC to be a training ground for future Civil Engineers and
Architects. It is because they have all the facilities, if you want to work at the office they have office, if you
want to go on construction sites, they have projects nearby the office. In addition to that, equipment and
machinery is a good thing too because they all have any types of equipment and machinery.
2. Company personnel cooperation
For me, the company’s team is very accommodating, very joyful, and professional individuals. They have
their own respected designation so they work pretty well as a team Also, the workers on the construction
sites are very joyful and accommodating as well, throughout my OJT training I do not have any concerns
and issues about any individuals that I have trained with.
B. Duration of training (too long or too short)
For me, I am delayed one week because on the first week of our OJT training, I am still looking for a
company that will accept me as their OJT trainee, so I starter on the second week of OJT training. I started
on July 4, 2022 and ended my OJT training on August 4, 2022. So for me, I think the duration of my
training is just right because it is exactly one month.
C. Suggestions for the improvement of the training program
For me, there is always room for development, and I know that the company Reliant Builders and
Management OPC is new when it comes in having interns like us OJT trainees. During my On-the-Job
training days, me and my fellow colleagues experienced problems that we have to solve it ourselves, so I
think that accommodating interns will help the company Reliant Builders and Management OPC as well.
D. Advice to future On-the-Job Trainees
My only advice to the future On-the-Job Trainees is that do not give up. Being tired, feeling, unmotivated,
feeling lazy, and other problems is normal when it comes in OJT training, just like in normal working person
they have the same issues. But for me, not giving up is the best advice that could ever give to a future On-
the-Job trainees.
