ABSTRACT
Now a days the life style of the people is different. People feel uncomfortable
and time consuming for going crowded markets. So, E-Shopping is a boon as
it saves lot of time. Online shopping is a process whereby consumers directly
buy goods, services etc. from a seller without an intermediary service over
the Internet. Shoppers can visit web stores from the comfort of their house
and shop as by sitting in front of the computer. Online stores are usually
available 24 hours a day and many consumers have internet access both at
work and at home. So it is very convenient for them to shop Online. One of
the most enticing factors about online shopping, particularly during holiday
season is, it alleviates the need to wait in long lines or search from a store for
a particular item. Variety of goods are available in online. So the researcher
want to know the preference of the consumers. So fifty respondents were met
and data were collected regarding their preference towards shopping online.
This project is helpful in shopping items online anywhere around the world.
The ordered items will be delivered directly to their address specified by
shopping online. Time spent is less. People can interact with business at any
hour of the day being convenient.
If shops are providing an online portal where their customers can enjoy easy
shopping from anywhere, the shops won’t be losing any more customers to
the trending online shops such as flipcart or ebay. Since the application is
available in the Smartphone it is easily accessible and always available.
INTRODUCTION
General over view of the project
User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX): Designing an intuitive and
visually appealing interface that allows users to navigate the online store
easily. This includes creating product categories, search functionality,
shopping cart, and checkout process.
The goals of a proposed online shopping project can vary depending on the specific
objectives and requirements of the organization or individuals involved. However, some
common goals of an online shopping system can include:
Increased Sales: The primary goal of an online shopping project is to facilitate and boost
sales by providing customers with a convenient and accessible platform to browse and
purchase products. The system aims to attract more customers and encourage them to make
purchases, ultimately increasing revenue for the business.
Expanded Market Reach: With an online shopping system, businesses can expand their
reach beyond their physical location and tap into a global customer base. The goal is to
make products accessible to customers from different geographical locations, thereby
increasing market reach and potential sales opportunities.
Streamlined Order Processing: The system should automate and streamline the order
processing workflow, from the moment a customer places an order to its fulfillment. This
includes automated order confirmation, tracking, shipping notifications, and invoicing,
reducing manual effort and improving operational efficiency.
Secure and Reliable Transactions: Ensuring the security of customer data and financial
transactions is of utmost importance. The proposed system should integrate robust security
measures, such as SSL encryption, secure payment gateways, and compliance with
industry standards and regulations (e.g., PCI DSS). Building trust and confidence among
customers is crucial for the success of an online shopping project.
Scalability and Flexibility: The online shopping project should be designed with
scalability and flexibility in mind, allowing it to handle increased traffic, growing product
catalogs, and potential future enhancements. This ensures that the system can adapt and
grow alongside the business requirements.
Customer Support and Engagement: The system should provide channels for customer
support, such as live chat, email, or a dedicated support portal. Prompt and efficient
customer support enhances the overall customer experience and helps resolve queries,
concerns, or issues, fostering customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Introduction about Software
Introduction to Front-end software.[ASP.NET]:
ASP.NET is a widely used framework for building web applications and websites,
developed by Microsoft. In the context of front-end development, ASP.NET provides
a powerful set of tools and libraries for creating interactive and dynamic user
interfaces.
• Front-end development refers to the client-side of web development, where the focus
is on designing and implementing the user interface that users interact with.
ASP.NET offers several features and components that facilitate front-end
development, including:
• HTML and CSS Support: ASP.NET provides support for HTML (Hypertext Markup
Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), which are fundamental technologies
used for structuring web content and applying styles and layouts. Developers can
leverage ASP.NET's HTML and CSS capabilities to create visually appealing and
responsive web pages.
• Web Forms: ASP.NET Web Forms is a feature-rich component of the framework that
allows developers to build interactive web applications using server-side controls.
Web Forms abstracts the complexities of web development and provides a drag-and-
drop interface for quickly designing user interfaces. It supports event-driven
programming and provides server-side processing capabilities.
Features of MYSQL:
Ease of Management The software very easily gets downloaded and also uses
an event scheduler to schedule the tasks automatically. Robust Transactional
Support Holds the ACID (Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation, Durability)
property, and also allows distributed multi-version support. Comprehensive
Application Development MYSQL has a plugin libraries to embed the
database into any application. It also supports stored procedures, triggers,
functions, views and many more for application development. High
Performance Provides fast load utilities with distinct memory catches and
table index partitioning. Smart shop 6 Secure Data Protection MYSQL
supports powerful mechanisms to ensure that only authorized users have
access to the databases. High Availability MYSQL can run high-speed
master/slave replication configurations and it offers cluster servers.
Scalability & Flexibility With MYSQL you can run deeply embedded
applications and create data warehouses holding a humongous amount of
data.

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
Scope:
The scope of the system is mainly maintaining the clothing and accessories
in proper manner. t maintains the details and shipping details of the users.
Abbreviations:
The abbreviation for Software Specification Requirements is commonly
represented as SRS. SRS stands for Software Requirements Specification,
which is a document that outlines the functional and non-functional
requirements of a software system. The SRS document serves as a reference
for developers, stakeholders, and other project members to understand and
implement the software according to the specified requirements.
OVERALL DESCRIPTION
Product Perspective:
The customer/user may use any of the web browsers and enter the web address,
from which they want to shop. Looking through the list of items provided along
with the rate, the customer can select any of it. Next the customer is requested to
enter the quantity of items he wishes to buy. Depending on this, the total amount is
displayed and also provides discount if any and finally the net amount is displayed.
Next is the payment procedure. The customer can pay cash on delivery or through
his credit card. The system also asks for the address to where the goods have to be
delivered. As soon as he provides his credit card number, its details are checked. If
the details are correct, then the sales procedure is authorized.
The “Online Supermarket” normally doesn’t have items in their warehouse. They
order it from a distributor and the items are dispatched to the customer. A bill will
be sent to the customer by the credit card company and vendors account will be
credited.
Admin provides a unique username and password for each employee through which
he can login. Admin also has the authority to add details of the items to be sold.
And he also has the right to edit or delete that information to/from the list.
Modules:
➢ Product: The admin has the authority to add or delete product details.
He also has the right to modify those details.
➢ Customer: At first the customer is supposed to enter his complete
details.
➢ Registration: As soon as the customer fills his complete details, the
admin provides unique username and password to him so that he can
login and can shop at any time.
➢ Shopping: The customer can select the items and put it into a trolley
provided and as soon as he clicks on “finish”, the total amount to be
paid is displayed and also provides discount if any.
➢ Payment: The customer can pay cash on delivery o else he can pay by
entering his credit card number and address to which the items have
to be shipped. If the payment is by credit card, the details of the credit
card are checked. If that particular credit card number is correct, then
the company authorizes the sale and the customer will receive an
acknowledgement.
➢ Indent Report: Here data will be available to know about the orders
taken by the customer in a day/month/year and this report can be
used for future verification purpose.
➢ Display: The user can view information regarding the items available
and its price details.
➢ Logout: This module allows the user to Logout the application. Further
operations cannot be performed after user exits.
User Characteristics:
General Constraints:
•Developing the system, this meets the SRS and solving all the requirements
of the system.
•Demonstrating the system and installing the system at client's location after
the acceptance testing is successful inSubmitting the required user manual
describing the system interfaces to work on it and also the documents of the
system.
•Conducting any user training that might be needed for using the system.
.The standards of flow chart at the required states that are the functionality of
the operations need more concentration.
Specific Requirements
Functional Requirements:
The functional requirements are the high level functionality of the system
here the function requirements of the central system monitoring all the
activities of the organization for storing the details
of the database.
Performance Requirements:
Design Constraints:
• Technical constraints
• Financial constraints
• Talent constraints
• Project-specific constraints
DETAILED DESIGN
DETAILED DESIGN
However techniques for software design do exist, criteria for design qualities
are available and design notation can be applied. Once software requirements
have been analysed and specified, software design is the first of three
activities- Design, code, test, that are required to build and verify software.
Each activities transform information in a manner that ultimately results in a
validation of computer software. The importance software design can be
started with a single word quality. Design is the place where quality fostered
in software development. Design provides us with the representations of the
software that can be accessed for quality.
Design the only way that we can accurately translate a customer's requirement
into a finished software product or system. Without design, risk of building
an unstable system exists-one that will fail when small changes are made one
that may be difficult to test.
Internal Design
The input design is the link between the information system and the users. It
comprises the directing specification and procedures for data preparations and
those steps that are necessary to put transaction data into a usable form for
processing data entry.
Several activities have to be carried out as part of the overall input process.
They include some or all of the following stages
• Data recording (that is, collection of data at its source);
• Data transcription (that is, transfer of data to an input form);
• Data conversion (that is, checking the conversion);
• Data control (that is, checking the accuracy and controlling the flow of
the data to the computer);
• Data transmission (that is, transmitting or transporting the data to the
computer);
• Data validation (that is, checking the input data by program when it
• enters the computer system);
• Data correction (that is, correcting the errors that are found at any of
the
• earlier stages).
External Design
Computer output is the most important and direct source of information to the
user. Output design is a process that involves designing necessary outputs that
have to be various users according to their requirements.
The options for the outputs and reports are given in the systems menu. When
designing output, system analyst must accomplish the following:
• Determine the information to present.
• Decide whether to display or print the information and select the
output medium.
• Arrange the present of information acceptable format.
• Decide how to distribute the output to intended receipts.
• Architectural Design
Entity – Relationship Diagram
Entity-Relationship Diagram: This depicts relationship between data objects.
The attribute of each data objects noted in the entity-relationship diagram can
be described using a data object description. Data flow diagram serves two
purposes:
2. To depict the functions that transformation the data flow. Data Objects:
A data object is a representation of almost any composite information
that must be understood by the software. By composite information,
we mean something that has a number of different properties or
attributes. A data object encapsulates data only there is no reference
within a data object to operations that act on the data.
Attributes: Attributes define the properties of a data object and take on one
of three different characteristics. They can be used to: Name an instance of
data object. Describe the instance. Make reference to another instance in other
table.
Data flow diagrams are a useful and intuitive way of describing a system.
They are normally understandable without special training, especially
controls information is excluded. They show end to end processing; that is
flow of processing form when data enters the system to where it leaves the
system can be traced.

SYSTEM TESTING
INTRODUCTION:
Testing Objectives
The main objective of testing is to uncover a host of errors,
systematically and with minimum effort and time. Stating formally, we can
say,
➢ A good test case is one that has a high probability of finding error, if it
exists.
Levels of Testing
In order to uncover the errors present in different phases we have the
concept of levels of testing. The basic levels of testing are as shown below…
Acceptance
Testing
Client Needs
System Testing
Requirements
Integration Testing
Design
Unit Testing
Code
Testing Strategies:
A strategy for software testing integrates software test case design
methods into a well-planned series of steps that result in the successful
construction of software.
Unit Testing
Unit testing focuses verification effort on the smallest unit of software i.e. the
module. Using the detailed design and the process specifications testing is
done to uncover errors within the boundary of the module. All modules must
be successful in the unit test before the start of the integration testing begins.
Unit Testing in this project : In this project each service can be thought of a
module. There are so many modules like Login, New Registration, Change
Password, Post Question, Modify Answer etc. When developing the module
as well as finishing the development so that each module works without any
error. The inputs are validated when accepting from the user.
TEST PLAN:
A number of activities must be performed for testing software. Testing
starts with test plan. Test plan identifies all testing related activities that
needed to be performed along with the schedule and guidelines for testing.
The plan also specifies the level of testing that need to be done , by identifying
the different units. For each unit specifying in the plan first the test cases and
reports are produced. These reports are analyzed.
Test plan is a general document for entire project , which defines the
scope, approach to be taken and the personal responsible for different
activities of testing. The inputs for forming test plans are :
1. Project plan
2. Requirements document
3. System design
Test case 1:
Test case 2:
Test case 3:
Test case 4:
Test case 5:
White Box Testing in this Project : I tested step wise every piece of code,
taking care that every statement in the code is executed at least once. I have
generated a list of test cases, sample data, which is used to check all possible
combinations of execution paths through the code at every module level.
Black Box Testing in this Project: I tested each and every module by
considering each module as a unit. I have prepared some set of input
combinations and checked the outputs for those inputs. Also I tested whether
the communication between one module to other module is performing well
or not.
Integration Testing
After the unit testing we have to perform integration testing. The goal here
is to see if modules can be integrated properly or not. This testing activity can
be considered as testing the design and hence the emphasis on testing module
interactions. It also helps to uncover a set of errors associated with
interfacing. Here the input to these modules will be the unit tested modules.
Integration Testing in this project: In this project integrating all the modules
forms the main system. Means I used Bottom-Up Integration Testing for this
project. When integrating all the modules I have checked whether the
integration effects working of any of the services by giving different
combinations of inputs with which the two services run perfectly before
Integration.
System Testing
Project testing is an important phase without which the system can’t be
released to the end users. It is aimed at ensuring that all the processes are
according to the specification accurately.
System Testing in this project: Here entire ‘system’ has been tested against
requirements of project and it is checked whether all requirements of project
have been satisfied or not.
Alpha Testing
This refers to the system testing that is carried out by the test team with the
organization.
Beta Testing
This refers to the system testing that is performed by a select group of friendly
customers.
Acceptance Testing
Acceptance Testing in this project: In this project I have collected some data
that was belongs to the University and tested whether project is working
correctly or not.
I conclude that this system is tested using all variety of tests… and found no
errors. Hence the testing process is completed.
CONCLUSION
The testing was carried out by dividing the project into difference modules.
The project has been satisfactory in the area of client requirements. The
project possesses all the details regarding Tourism. The special feature of the
project is that it matches the requirements of the clients.
