The Philippine History Controversies: Historical Comparative

Case Study

Comparative historical research is a method of social science that


examines historical events in order to create explanations that are valid
beyond a particular time and place, either by direct comparison to other
historical events, theory building, or reference to the present day.
Instruction: In your group, do a historical comparative analysis regarding
about the specific topic given. Follow the comparative analysis format
below.
Create your own captivating and unique title that represents your study.
INTRODUCTION: Give an overview to the historical controversy, introduce the
different opposing arguments and describe the research problem and its
significance, should also succinctly describe why the case is being used and
how it relates to addressing the problem in connection to the Philippine
History.

HISTORICAL RESEARCH STATEMENTS: Formulate a historical question that will


answer your research analysis. Identify specific cases to investigate, a
counter point to prevailing assumptions, acknowledge different sources that
pertains to specific historical problem.

HISTORICAL CASE DEFINITIONS: Include and define terms that are important to
your study or are used frequently throughout the case study but are not
common knowledge.

HISTORICAL COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS: Cite sources in books and media outlet the
