UNIT PLAN
INTRODUCTION
Planning for unit is known as unit plan. A unit consists of comprehensive serious of related and meaningful
activity to achieve the purpose and educational objective by providing significant
education experiences that result in appropriate behavior changes in learner.
JARACTERISTICS OF UNIT PLAN:
1. It recognizes that learning takes place most effectively in terms of whole rather than fraction.
2. Learning is development, therefore provides horizontal and vertical organization of learning
experiences.
3. Learning taken place effectively with understanding and acceptance of goal.
4. The necessity for providing for individual different in way of leaning and interest,
therefore variety of assignment, project, field trip, conference and other similar activities are
planned.
5. Throe learning renders the skill in self-direction.
6. Unit plan provides sound basis for evaluation.
ITERIA OF GOOD UNIT PLAN:
1. Needs capabilities, interest of the students.
2. Varity of experiences should be planned e.g. Field visit, trip.
3. Previous experiences & back ground should be known.
4. Length of unit should be based on interest of student.
5. Provide new opportunity for student.
6. Family & related chapter should be address.
7. Related to social & physical environment.
8. Unit should be a part of sequence that permits growth from year to year.
9. Psychological principle-learning by whole is followed.
10. Represent goal, learning matter subject as a whole.
11. I importance to be given to integrated outcome.
12. Organize the subject matter to unit as subject experiences.
13. It achieves a set of specification & objective.
14. Teachers should have through knowledge about subject matter.
15. Availability of subject hours should be considered.
SENTIAL ACTIVITY IN PLANNING UNIT PLAN:
Selection and statement of objectives to bring desired change in behavior.
Selection of content :• Facts, concepts, principle required for objective.
• Information.
Generalization.
Subject matter should be organized.
Source for its knowledge component (references, journals, [Link])
Educational resources, study of client at home, hospital or at any situation
Type of unit, objective of unit, field of study
Placing scientific principle for development of skill
Study guide has to be prepared in advance.
3 Distribution of time and allotment of time.
4 Organization of content of unit to meet desired objective.
Reinforce the manner to create a border & deeper understanding (concept).
Develop and refine strength, skill & knowledge that is required.
5 Selection of teaching learning objective:
Tracing out & utilization of available resources & facilities according to need.
6 Selection of method of evaluation.
7 Selection of references,
STEPS IN UNIT PLANNING:
CONTENT ANALYSIS:
Emphasis is placed on analyzing content into term, concepts, facts, situation, process, Generalization,
conclusion, principles, laws, relationships, etc.
Eg. English language (One word, proverbs, word building).
IMPORTANCE OF CONTENT ANALYSIS:-
1. It helps the learner to have thorough knowledge.
2. Awareness of subject matter.
3. Mastery of subject.
2. OBJECTIVE SPECIALIZATION:-
That can be realized by content analysis.
3. LEARNING ACTIVITY:
•Maintain individual differences.
•Psychology of learning must be understood,
4. TESTING PROCEDURE: -
Type of evaluation.
Tools & technique of evaluation to assess outcome of learner.
