Activity 2 - Part 2 – Learner-centered Psychological Principles
(Lesson 4-8) 41 +4 = 45 points
Individual
Name: SININING, Dina Amor L. Yr/Crs/ Sec: BSED MATH 2A Date: September 4, 2023
A) Learner-centered Psychological Principles (25 points)
There are six (6) principles under Cognitive and Metacognitive Factors, three (3) under Motivational and Affective
Factors, two (2) under Developmental and Social Factors, and three (3) under Individual Differences.
Choose one per factor (Lesson 4-7) and use it in one lesson preparation related to your field of specialization.
Lesson Topic: Improving problem solving skills using Algebraic Expression (1 pt) related to your specialization
Chosen principle used from Factor 1: 4.4 Strategic thinking in their approach in learning and problem solving. (1pt)
How will you use the principle in relation to your lesson topic?
(3 pts for the situation + 2 points when it is related to your field of specialization).
I will give them a situational problem or a scenario in order for them to solve it on their own and to improve their
thinking skills.
Chosen principle used from Factor 2: 5.3 Effect of motivation and effort. (1pt)
How will you use the principle in relation to your lesson topic? (continuity of factor 1)
(3 pts for the situation + 2 points when it is related to your field of specialization).
In order to enhance their thinking capabilities and learning outcomes, I will present a creative and motivating problem-
solving presentation.
Chosen principle used from Factor 3: Social influence on learning. (1pt)
How will you use the principle in relation to your lesson topic? (continuity of factor 1 and 2).
(3 pts for the situation + 2 points when it is related to your field of specialization).
I will divide my students into groups and provide them with situational problem work so that they can not only improve
their mental health but also their ability to solve the problem and learn how to work together as a team.
Chosen principle used from Factor 4: Standard and Assessment (1pt)
How will you use the principle in relation to your lesson topic? (continuity of factor 1, 2 and 3)
(3 pts for the situation + 2 points when it is related to your field of specialization).
I’ll give them each a problem to solve one at a time to help them figure out how to work with algebras on their own while
also testing their skills on what they’ve learned about.
B) Legal and Policy Frameworks and Learner-centered Teaching
1) Cite 2 Advantages and Disadvantages of RA 10533 (2pts each x 8 = 16 points)
1.1 Advantage of RA 10533
1.1.1 Can make students more prepared in joining the workplace.
1.1.2 The program will also provide students with the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities, gain relevant
experience in a range of sectors, and gain hands-on experience in the field of their choice.
1.2 Disadvantage of RA 10533
1.2.1 Implementing the curriculum are real and urgent.
1.2.2 Students have insufficient mastery of basic competencies due to congested curriculum.
2) Cite 2 Advantages and Disadvantages of K-12 Curriculum Program in the Philippines (2pts each x 8 = 16 points)
2.1 Advantage of K-12 Curriculum Program in the Philippines
2.1.1The K to 12 program promotes global competency by accelerating mutual recognition of Filipino graduates and professionals
in other countries.
2.1.2 Give students the option to select between academic, technical-vocational-livelihood and sports and arts strands.
2.2 Disadvantage of K-12 Curriculum Program in the Philippines
2.2.1 Many parents disagreed with this new system of education because they have to disburse more money for the education of
their children. The drop-out rate will increase because of the two added years. It is because of lack of money to fund their
children’s to send them to school.
2.2.2 The government also doesn’t have enough money to cover the extra two years of free school because it needs to address
the shortage of classrooms, furniture and equipment, and free school books first.

Example:
Lesson Topic: Recycling of waste materials
For the first factor, I will use 4.2, in here, I will set my lesson objectives
How will I use the chosen principle under the first factor
- By the end of the lesson, the Pre-service teachers in ALS will be able to come up with one recycled waste material project.
For the second factor, I will use 5.3, in here I will set them see the impact of their project
- I will post the best output in youtube – the process of doing it, costing, and usability.
For the third factor, I will use 6.2, in here, the project (recycled waste material) could be done by dyads or by groupings.
For the fourth factor, I will use 7.2, in here, the group members could plan their own recycled waste material.
- Choosing what kind of project they will present.
