Weddings :
Wedding practices in different cultures A wedding is a ceremony where
two people are united in marriage. Wedding traditions and customs
vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and
social classes.
In the united states many couples have bridesmaids and groomsmenat
their wedding They are instrumental in planning wedding-related
events such as bachelor and bachelorette parties they stand beside
the couple while they are stating their vows. Most American weddings
include a wedding processional, where the wedding party walks down
the aisle at the beginning of the wedding ceremony. The first dance is
one of the most anticipated events. The newlyweds make their way to
the dance floor and make their debut as a married couple.
In Algeria is way more fun if one can say, The hammam, or thermal
bath, is almost sacred when it comes to preparing for an Algerian
wedding. the ritual symbolises purification of the body, and
encapsulates virtues of fertility and positive spirits. The henna night is
just as intimate and allows the bride to mark the happy occasion with
those closest to her, before the public wedding procession starts. The
wedding festivities begin in the bride’s neighbourhood. The elaborate
display transporting the bride from her home to the venue or groom’s
house symbolises the alliance between the two families and the start
of a new chapter containing horses and sometimes even camels
companied by music which essential in every wedding and baroud in
some chaoui wilayas.
