Question 1.
Briefly describe the company and what project they are working on.
Trek Mining Inc. is a mining company that works on production, near-production
and exploration-stage projects in North and South America. Trek Mining announced that
for its 100% owned Aurizona Gold Mine located in northeastern Brazil. The feasibility
study is based on a new mine plan and gave the recent mineral reserve estimate and
outlines the design of an open-pit gold mine producing on average approximately
136,000 ounces of gold per year, with an initial 6.5-year mine life and significant
exploration upside, as demonstrated with recent drill results.
Question 2.
What level of study have they completed (Scoping, Pre-Feasibility, Final Feasibility,
etc.)?
The company have completed a final feasibility study, as the company has the
financially and economic reason to start the project.
Question 3.
List the reserves and/or resources that they have calculated.
The main resources the company has calculated is gold. The other minor materials
calculated is laterite, transition, scapolite, and fresh rock ores.
Question 4.
Describe the type of mining that is proposed for this deposit
The type of mining proposed for the deposit are two open pit mining and one
underground. The two-open pit mining is in Piaba and Boa Esperança. In Piaba there
measured and indicated 27,890 tonnes of gold, while in Boa Esperança there is indicated
of 370 tonnes of gold. The underground mining is at Piaba with inferred 5,090 tonnes of
gold.
Question 5.
Describe one challenge or innovation that is involved with the project.
A challenge faced with this project is the voluntary state of the Brazilian dollar
and predictable range to maximize the profit of the project.
