NARRATIVE REPORT

S.Y. 2023-2024

DAY-1

On the 1st day of our work immersion at royale palm resort hotel and business center,
after we logged book in the guard’s desk, we took a picture with our adviser and work
immersion coordinator ma’am Leslie Ann Mila, we followed the HR manager sir Darwin, he
introduced the team leaders for each department including ma’am Gretchen and Sir Rico. Sir
Darwin tour us to every department. Firstly, we gone the F&B department in café Caridad
which is ma’am Gretchen is the team leader, she introduced us the various types of cups and
glass also the equipment being used in the department and the plates, then oriented us on
how to handle a costumer in case we get to have a chance to serve a costumer on our work
immersion days. She taught us the proper manner on how to entertain the guests and offer
food and service. She then taught us on how to properly take orders and the rotation of
serving in a particular table. She also introduced us to our co-immersioner from BIGO and
the staffs of F&B. then we go to the FO or front office where Sir Rico is the team leader, he
then taught us the rules and responsibilities of a front personnel where guests are to entertain
and handled. He taught us the obligation of the front personnel and tour us to the different
rooms the hotel has. Unfortunately, we haven’t been oriented in the housekeeping
department, the kitchen and other department in the reason that they are busy. Since the
schedule were yet to finalize, we are first tasked to clean the extension area of café caridad,
we swept the floor, swipe the glass windows, swipe the table and arrange the chairs. Then
after that, we are given a task in housekeeping department to clean the 2 nd, and the 3rd floor.
We swept the floor there, wipe the windows and mop the floor, and i was taught by kua
Jeremy on how to use the vacuum cleaner and vacuum the function hall while the others are
swiping the glass window. After that, we clean the Macky’s bar at the top floor, we mop the
floor, swept the floor and arrange the tables and chairs. Then we took break and go to mini
mart at the front of the hotel and buy snacks.
 Day-2

The 2nd day of the work immersion we ae already aware of our schedule so, and
luckily, I am afternoon shift, which was advantage to me, I have arrived at the hotel around
11: 57 and logged in. then wore my hairnet and went at the gazebo. When I arrived there is
no costumer so we just chit chat with my co-ojt cristina and jonalyn and the boys, then
afterwards, washed the glasses that have been used, then tasked to sweep the floor at the
gazebo and the pool side, then wipe the tables, then I asked kua Tristan to teach me on
wiping the washed glasses and plates with the respective towel. Then after that, I swept the
hallway as it seems to be dirty and mopped it. After which I put the wiped to dry glasses and
plates to where they should put it.

Day-3
On our third day of immersion, when I gone to the back of café caridad I have been
asked to wipe the tables and sweep the floor near the pool side, jaira and others are at the
extension and been taught to fold the napkins and organize the table. I am tasked to wash the
glasses and after which I mopped the floor as it gets dirty because the kitchen is under
maintenance. I wipe to dry the various glass and plates and put it in the cabinet. We rest at
the stairs at the back while waiting for guests and costumers. The immersion students from
BIGO said their goodbye as this day is their last day.
 Day 4

On the fourth day, after logging in at the guard’s area, we put our things at the
locker area and go to the cafe, there were no costumers and guests when we arrived so we
just sat on the stairs and waited for something to do, when guests started to arrive as time
goes by, we prepared ourselves for assisting our seniors and wash the plates and glasses that
have been used. I mopped the floor after sweeping and then we told maám Gretchen that we
are about to out. And she allowed us to wrap the day up.

Day 5
Today is Friday and the fifth day, and every Friday the hotel hold an event called
Friday night, that’s why when we arrive they are busy preparing for the event, we quickly
took some work so that it’s not embarrassing for just standing at the corner, we mopped the
floor, and I wiped the tables at the pool side then , ma’am nene called us and told to brush
the floor at the area where the maintenance for the roof just got finished, it was hard to brush
cause the paints and epoxy are hard to remove, the janitor asked for muriatic acid so that the
paints can easily be removed and it is, kua janitor put acid on the floor and waited for a
couple of minutes and then mopped the floor, and as expected the paint looks like anew. The
paints have been removed and we leave kua janitot alone pand go back to the kitchen. We
washed our hands and when I saw used glasses in the sink, I quickly washed it and put them
at the corner to let them dry.
 Week 2

Day 6
It was Monday and as for our rotation we are now assigned in housekeeping, while
were at the stairs, ate dessa came to us and led the way, we went top room 201, on the second
floor of the hotel. She taught us to do the bedding and room make up, she first taught us on
how to properly remove the bedsheet, the cover of comforter and the cover of the pillows,
then taught us how to neatly put the new bedsheet in the bed, put the comforter properly and
the pillows then we cleaned the whole room. We first sweep the floor, the, ate dessa started
to clean the restroom. She and told us to watch her so that we can learn. Then she taught me
to fold the towel properly. Then go to the hallway and sweep it, we go to the fire exit and
mopped the hallway. Then wiped the glass windows. and there seems to have new batch of
students taking up work immersion. Meanwhile, we go to the storage room take each one of
us an equipment or tool, then go to designated area of cleaning.

Day 7
Its Tuesday and when we arrived, after a few moments we are tasked to clean the
commercial rooms at the left area of the hotel at the second floor. It’s a little bit dusty so we
cleaned the whole area, we parted our group into three to make the work much faster and
easier, after sweeping the area, we mopped the floor and wiped the glass walls, we go to the
third floor after that and started mopping the floor at macky’s sky bar. Then the same again,
wiping windows, mopping floor and cleaning the the whole area. The after that, I have been
asked by kua marion that they need help of one of us in the receiving area. So I go to the first
floor and went where maam nene are receiving items. We are told to bring the boxes of liquid
dishwashing soaps at the doorsteps of the storage room at the first floor. There were several
types such like dishwashing liquid, sterilizer, handwashing liquid etc. then after that we are
tasked to unpack the items together with the student from Pambujan. we unpack the items
carefully as it may broke, the items were for the f&b and the kitchen. There are various type
of plates including salad plate, soup bowl etc. then the glasses for drink.
 Day 8

It’s the 8th day of our immersion, its Wednesday and there seems to have new
changes in our works, as the new immersion students are with us and will be a handful to us.
We go to the second floor on the storage room, take each of us a handy equipment to use for
cleaning the designated areas of cleaning, we started wiping the glass windows near the
flower shop, then sweep the floor near at the front of the salon and spa commercial room. I
then go to the lobby on the second floor of the hotel, started to clean the mirrors, wipe the
tables with a towel, and sweep the floor after retouching the staircase by the painter.
Afterwhich, kua marion called me and I followed him in the storage room in the third floor
where they put and store the items and equipments that are being used during occasions. We
are told to reorganize the whole thing, and maam nene tries to get the items that are likely to
be used. Maam nene asked me to get the standing fan in sir jerry’s office at the left corner but
then it didn’t work. She then asked me to get that fan back and get the bigger one but it didn’t
work either. We just continue our work then after getting maam nene what she needs, we
organized the whole area and cleaned the floor.

Day 9

Thursday afternoon, when I have arrived at the hotel, some of my classmates have
shift hours to morning, after taking tools for housekeeping in the storage room, we are tasked
to clean the commercial rooms in the right side of the hotel at the second floor, while the
pothers are at the left side of the hotel, I was alone cleaning one of the commercial room, its
not that hard as there is not much dust to sweep, jaira followed and mopped the floor where I
cleaned the ceiling and sweep the floor, we went to the third floor at the macky’s sky bar and
mopped the staircase then we rested. At the back of the mini bar. Next thing, there was an
emergency at the café caridad extension. The Pambujan immersion students were tasked to
help pack and organize the function hall or the pavilion. I came down and helped bring the
speaker and get sweeper and a dustpan, then go to the extension and helped the others. We
cleaned the area, put the empty bottles in the trash bag and after it gets full, I took it and put
it at the back where trash are stored. then we wrapped up everything then leave.

Day 10
The last and final day of our immersion, I have arrived almost late and my mates
were already at the second floor, we went to the storage room and take each one of us a towel
and a sweeper and dustpan, we go to the commercial areas at the first floor and cleaned them
inside then after that, I wiped the glass walls, and cleaned the whole extension of café caridad
then I went to the lobby at the second floor and wiped the tables there and the mirrors and
went to the hallway in the third floor wiping the tables and after that, we cleaned the hallway
in the first floor then I wiped the tables.
