KEMAHIRAN: Reading 3.1.3 blend phonemes cvc
OBJEKTIF: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to
1. Sound the phonemes /m/,/d/ and /u/
2. Blend phonemes and read 3 words with guidance.
AKTIVITI PENGAJARAN & PEMBELAJARAN:
Pre lesson :
Teacher shows picture of a family to pupils. Teacher asks to identify the
parents from picture. Teacher introduces the words mum and dad and asks
about what they call their parents. Pupils elicit new phonemes from word
mum and dad.
Pupils recall blending technique from prior lessons by playing Bob Books
Reading Magic with teacher. Leader of groups plays the game for other
pupils to recall the blending technique.
Lesson Delivery:
1.Pupils plays video to introduce phonemes – /m/, /u/ and /d/.
2. Teacher review lyrics of the song with pupils and pupils sound phonemes
with gestures.
3. Teacher introduces blending of phonemes – dad, mum, man and Dan using
sound calendar. Teacher uses PowerPoint to check pupils’ blending.
3. Pupils repeat phonemes in numbered heads, one word of each number.
4. Pupils repeat blending phonemes by groups, one word of each group.
5. In pairs, pupils check their sounding and blending using a checklist.
6. Roll and Read – pupils play game in groups. Groups who completed the
game can claim reward from teacher.
Post lesson: Mini Whiteboard activity – Teacher checks pupils’ understanding
by asking pupils the write the alphabet and word based on the sound made
by teacher.
Differentiation by task – Group B
1. Checklist – complete only 2 phonemes, 2 words.
2. Roll and Read – use number 1,2,3,4 on the dice and complete 2
columns only.
