Admission Point Scale


NUST uses the Admission Point Scale to facilitate admission based on your school-leaving results. Your school-leaving subject symbols or
percentages are converted into points, then added up to determine if you have obtained the minimum number of points required to be
considered for entry into your preferred programme of study.
Note:
1. English is always counted in the calculation of points.
2. Mathematical Literacy (NSC) is not accepted for programmes requiring Mathematics as an admission requirement.

Online Applications
Applying online
Log on to the NUST website at [Link] Note: Online applications are only available for undergraduate studies. If you apply

Part A: Biographical Information:


Complete your Biographical Information and click on “save”. The system will
automatically take you to the next step, “create your pin number”.
Note: You must provide a valid email address since all correspondence will be via
email.

Part B: Create your Pin Number:


A reference number will be created for you. Continue to create your pin number and
click on “create pin”. The system will automatically take you to the “Student Kiosk”.
Note: The pin must be 5 numeric digits. It should not start with a zero (0) and must not
contain any double digits. Remember your reference number and pin.

Part C: Complete your application: Click on “Application”.


Step 1: Confirm that your biographical information is correct. Also ensure that your
email address is correct, by clicking on “Personal contact detail”.
Step 2: Pay your application fee of N$240 using your debit/credit card. A waiting period
of 20 minutes is required before the payment will reflect on your account and you can
continue with your application.
Step 3: Acceptance of the Declaration and Undertaking is mandatory and serves as your
electronic signature. The indicator will be stored on your student file and can be used as
a legal agreement in a dispute/disciplinary matter.
Step 4: NUST strives to create opportunities for people with disabilities. In many in-
stances we have not yet eliminated all the barriers, it would therefore be helpful for us
to know in advance whether you have any special needs so that we can work together
to achieve equal access to the programme If you have any disability, kindly complete this
step – if not, you may skip it.
Step 5: Capture your Grade 11/12 results. Current Namibian learners must use their latest
school results to apply.
Step 6: If you have any post Grade 12 qualifications, you can complete this step – if not,
you may skip it.
Step 7: Choose the qualification which you choose to study. E.g. If you would like to
study accounting, type “accounting” in the field and choose the qualification you wish
to study.
Final Step: Your application will be incomplete without the necessary documents being
uploaded. Your documents should be scanned and converted in the .pdf format.

Tuition Fees Hostel Accommodation

encourage cultural heritage including a week-long cultural
festival, crowning of “Mr and Miss NUST” and other activities.

counselling e.g. Workshops in CV writing and job-hunting skills,
career guidance programmes e.g. annual Career Fair, graduate
recruitment programme and job placement of students.
• Health Services Clinic: Provides primary health care, focusing on
the prevention of illness and promotes a healthy lifestyle and
general hygiene.
• Social Welfare Services: Focuses on social problems and
promotes mental health for students. Various workshops take
place throughout the year on topics ranging from relationships,
sexual harassment, stress management, alcohol and substance
abuse, etc.
• Student Counselling and HIV/AIDS Coordination Services: Provides
academic and HIV pre- and post-test counselling. Various events
take place throughout the year, e.g. Leadership workshops, HIV/
AIDS Awareness Campaign, HIV/AIDS Peer Counselling Training,
