ACTIVITY PROPOSAL

I. ACTIVITY TITLE:
This activity will be called PASAVOGUE: A Novemberrific Way of
Connecting and Reviving the Normalista Spirit

II. DESCRIPTION

The annual celebration of the Acquaintance Party at Leyte Normal

University is customarily spearheaded by the Supreme Student Council. In
adherence of the New Guidelines on the Nationwide Implementation of Alert
Level System for COVID-19 and the mandates of the Expanded Limited
Face-to-Face Laboratory Classes of the university, the event is proposed to
be implemented through hybrid means. This year’s ‘Novemberrific’
celebration involves a series of uniquely conceptualized, inclusive, and
virtually adaptive activities that intend to build substantial connections
between continuing and new students, celebrate the university culture, and
revive the embers of the Normalista spirit.
‘PASAVOGUE’ a coinage derived from the Filipino word ‘pasabog’ literally
translated as ‘explosive’; and the pop culture term of American origin ‘vogue’,
a popular fashion and brand magazine showcasing glitz, glamour, and
unending creativity. This years’ Acquaintance Party aims to integrate the
‘explosiveness’ and ‘creativity’ of the Normalista spirit which was derailed
and limited by the pandemic.

III. RATIONALE
The continued limitations imposed upon by the pandemic restrictions to
the student population of the university limits the opportunities for students to
build substantial connections and experience the lively school culture of Leyte
Normal University. There continues to be an existing challenge for the
Supreme Student Council to develop innovative and adaptive meanss of
ensuring that these gaps are addressed and alleviated -this activity aims to
address such.
The continued yearly celebration of the university-wide acquaintance
party in the midst of the pandemic plays an essential role in ensuring that the
student population remains unified and in-touch with the school culture. The
implementation of these ‘PasaVOGUE’ activities and conduct of a university
wide acquaintance party this year will signify the students’ renewed
commitment to the university and celebrate the unified Normalista culture that
binds us all.

IV. OBJECTIVES
This activity intends to build substantial connections between
continuing and new students and celebrate the lively Normalista culture.
Specifically, it aims to:
a. Acquaint the continuing, returning, and new students with the
Normalistas within and beyond their respective programs,
b. aid the transition of the new students into the university,

c. create a unified and hospitable atmosphere for the student body,

and;
d. reinforce the culture of solidarity among Normalistas.

VI. PROPOSED DATE AND VENUE

This activity is proposed to take place on November 16, 2022 at the HRDC
Gymnasium of Leyte Normal University.

VII. PROPOSED DRESS CODE

As a university-wide activity aiming to unify and bring leisure to its
expected participants, the proposed dress code is ‘White Glamour’. This dressing
guideline complements the theme PASAVOGUE: An Novemberrific Way of
Connecting and Reviving the Normalista Spirit. The expected attendees will be
asked to indulge the event by dressing in semi-formal attires in shades of white.
White is a clean, pure, and a usual symbol of a harmonious and unified front;
values which this years’ event aspire to ignite. White attires will also challenge
the attendees abilities to create ‘Pasavouge’ outfits out of something seemingly
simple and usual. While seemingly creative, the council assures that the
appropriate LNU dress code will still be strictly implemented and participants will
be asked to dress modestly and appropriately.

VIII. EXPECTED PARTICIPANTS

The in-person activity is expected to be participated by the SSC along with
the different academic, non-academic, and year-level organizations. Only the
officers of the 27 Academic, non-academic, and year-level organizations will be

invited for the in-person conduct of the activity to ensure that the face-to-face
conduct of this activity will remain in adherence to the Covid-19 protocols
enforced by the university. Below are the estimated attendees per organization:
