• A compound of words in which the second
word describes or qualifies the first word.
• The first part of مركبتوصيفىis called موصوف
• The second part is called صفة

RULES
• When stopping at a word with taa mudawwarah,
( )ﺘاﺀ مدوّرةthe taa should be pronounced as haa
عاﺌشة = عاﺌشه
• Just as an adjective corresponds to its noun in
being definite or indefinite, so does it correspond
in gender.
