Our Sunday school (all ages from 2yo-grade 6) is presenting a couple of items during our service this morning!

Walking Group
Please note the Tuesday and Friday Walking Group is now open to men as well as ladies. Please call Lee (5523 4520) for details.

Parents are welcome to use the Parents room just off the foyer, with activities for children up to 2 years, if your child is unsettled. It is sound-linked to the auditorium. The Preschooler Sunday School runs all year round during the service, with Bible stories, activities and crafts. For ages 2 years to Prep, downstairs (door just past side gate).

Next Saturday 24th December at the Church - 9:30pm. Next Sunday 25th December - begins 9:30am.

Our Annual Christmas Day Offering


Every Christmas we give a special offering to Baptist World Aid to support those who do not have the many blessings which we take for granted. This year, as Christmas falls on a Sunday, a Retiring Offering will be taken up as we leave the service. Baptist World Aid brochures (which includes envelope) are still available in the foyer and downstairs.

Glenelg Aged Care Christmas Service


Today - 2:00pm
Everyone is welcome to join our senior friends in worship and fellowship this afternoon for the last monthly service of the year. We need more singers, helpers, sit -and-chatters and you would be very much appreciated. Please pray for our dedicated team of volunteers and all the residents.

Congratulations to Claire Manson who will graduate tomorrow, 19th December in the field of Social Welfare, having achieved her qualifications in Warrnambool after two years of study. Well done Claire, may God bless you in your future endeavours.

Our thanks to Warren Holman who is our Guest Speaker, both this morning and next Sunday, Christmas Day.
A special Thank You to our Sunday School students who are taking part in this mornings service and as always, sincere thanks to the teachers for their dedicated efforts throughout the year.

Many thanks to Peter and Punay for their generosity in hosting the Annual Church BBQ and Carols evening on Sunday 4th December. It is always a delight to share this special evening, so appreciated by the crowd who attended.
A big Thank You to the BWF ladies who produced the Seniors Christmas Afternoon last Tuesday. A great time - and wonderful afternoon tea - was enjoyed by 30-plus people. Special thanks to Dianne, Helen and Alex and thank you to everyone who came and joined in.

Prayer Points: ~ The health and energy of the leaders. ~ Continued financial support. ~ Pre-planning and self preparation of team members: 110% focused on the mission and sharing God's love. ~ All council, churches & community who help & support the program. ~ Each and every one of the leaders, team parents, pastors, cooks. ~ Every Portlander who might come along to the program and hear the Good News and be open to learning and finding out more about it.

Music Practice

Offering Envelopes
Sincere thanks to those who regularly use our offering envelopes. The fresh supply for 2012 is now available - please check your pigeonhole in the foyer if you have not collected yours last week.

Once again we are happy to thank Roger Mibus for the Christmas tree which has appeared in the church. Thank you Rosemary for organising the tree decorating evening last Wednesday, and thanks to those - few but industrious - who lent a hand!
Thank You to the good fairies who did a great job in reorganizing the church foyer! It is now possible to access the pigeonholes easily and everyone is requested to check their pigeonhole (under their surname initial) for mail, notices, Commitment Cards (in manila envelopes), boxes of Offering envelopes, sermon CDs, Christmas cards ....

Note to worship team members: throughout December & January could worship team members check with Helen each Sunday regarding practice for the following Sunday, Membership Renewal as practice will depend on who is Church Commitment Cards with available and when.
