Title: The Tragedy of the Kabuliwala**

KABULIWALAH(RAHMAT): CEDRICK

FARZANA(WIFE): ERNESTO

SHIRIN(GRAND DAUGHTER): PRINCESS

ZAINAB(DAUGHTER OF KABULIWALLAH): DARWIN

NARRATOR: SHERYL

**Scene 1: The Journey**

*Setting: Rahmat is on a rugged road, traveling towards Kabul. The landscape changes from the bustling city of
Kolkata to the barren, rocky terrain of Afghanistan.*

**Rahmat:** (To himself) Just a few more days and I’ll see my family. I wonder how much my daughter has
grown.

**Scene 2: Homecoming**

*Setting: Rahmat arrives at his home in Kabul, which looks worn and desolate. His wife, Farzana, greets him at
the door with tears in her eyes.*

**Rahmat:** (Hugging Farzana) Farzana, my love. I’m home. Where is our daughter?

**Farzana:** (Sobbing) Rahmat, she... she’s not here. (She breaks down.)

**Rahmat:** (Panicked) What happened? Where is she?

**Farzana:** (Through tears) There was an attack. Our village was raided by insurgents. She... she didn’t make
it, Rahmat. They... they took everything.

**Rahmat:** (Staggering back, in shock) No... this can’t be. I promised her I’d return. I promised...

**Scene 3: The Burial Ground**

*Setting: A small, makeshift burial ground. Rahmat is standing by a tiny grave, tears streaming down his face.
He places the dry fruits he brought from Kolkata on the grave.*

**Rahmat:** (Whispering) My little one, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I should have been here. (He collapses in grief.)

**Scene 4: The Twist**

*Setting: A few months later. Rahmat is sitting outside his damaged home, staring into the distance. A young
girl, resembling his daughter, approaches him hesitantly.*

**Young Girl:** (Softly) Are you the Kabuliwala?

**Rahmat:** (Startled, looking up) Yes, I am. Who are you?

**Young Girl:** (Smiling shyly) My name is Shirin. I heard stories about you from the villagers. They say you’re
a kind man.

**Rahmat:** (Eyes widening in recognition) Shirin... (He notices the resemblance to his daughter and is
overwhelmed with emotion.)

**Shirin:** (Holding out a small, handmade doll) My mother made this for me. She said to give it to you if I
ever met you. She said you would understand.
**Rahmat:** (Taking the doll, realizing it’s the same kind his daughter used to make) Your mother... is she...

**Shirin:** (Nodding) Yes, she was your daughter. She... she saved me that day. I’ve been living with another
family since then. But I wanted to find you.

**Rahmat:** (Tears of joy and sorrow mingling) My granddaughter... (He embraces Shirin.) I’ve lost so much,
but in you, I find hope again.

**Scene 5: A New Beginning**

*Setting: Rahmat’s home. It is being repaired with the help of villagers. Shirin is playing nearby. Rahmat looks
on, a mixture of sorrow and hope in his eyes.*

**Rahmat:** (To himself) Life has taken so much from me, but it has also given me a second chance. For you,
Shirin, I will live. I will tell you stories of your brave mother and of Mini, the little girl who reminded me of you.

(Rahmat collapses to his knees, overwhelmed by grief. The scene fades to black.)

Scene 6: The Afterlife – A Beautiful Garden

(The scene transitions to a serene, ethereal garden. Rahmat finds himself standing there, looking around in
confusion. Suddenly, a young girl runs towards him, her laughter filling the air.)

Rahmat: (Softly) Zainab?

Zainab: (Laughing) Baba! You are here!

(They embrace, tears streaming down Rahmat's face.)

Rahmat: My little girl... I thought I lost you forever.

Zainab: (Smiling) We are together now, Baba. In this place, we will never be apart again.

Scene 7: Reunion in the Presence of God

(The garden shifts to a celestial realm. They stand before a divine light, symbolizing God in Hindu belief.)

Rahmat: (Kneeling) Thank you for reuniting me with my daughter.

Divine Voice: (Echoing) Rahmat, your journey was long and filled with sorrow, but your love has brought you to
this place of peace. Here, you and Zainab shall find eternal happiness.

Rahmat: (Tearfully) I am grateful.

Zainab: Baba, let's stay together forever.

(They hold hands, looking towards the divine light. The scene fades out, symbolizing their eternal peace and
happiness in the afterlife.)

Narrator: And so, Rahmat, the Kabuliwallah, found solace and eternal joy with his beloved daughter in the
divine realm, their spirits united forever.
