1. How many different blood types do you know? What are they?
There are 4 main blood types. They are type O, A, B and AB
2. How many blood cells do you know? What are they?
There are three main types of blood cells:
Red blood cells (erythrocytes): These cells transport oxygen from the lungs to the body's
tissues and remove carbon dioxide from the tissues back to the lungs. This oxygen is bound to
an iron-containìn pigment within the cells called hemoglobin
White blood cells (leukocytes): These cells are part of the body's immune system and help
fight infection.
Platelets (thrombocytes): These cells help in blood clotting and wound healing.
3. What is the function of erythrocyte?
Red blood cells (erythrocytes): These cells transport oxygen from the lungs to the body's
tissues and remove carbon dioxide from the tissues back to the lungs. This oxygen is bound to
an iron-containìn pigment within the cells called hemoglobin
4. What is the function of leukocyte?
They are important in immunization, their number may increase during infection.
5. What is the function of thrombocyte?
They are important in hemostasis, the prevention of blood loss, a component of which is the
process of blood clotting, also known as coagulation.
6. How many types of granulocyte do you know? What are they?
There are three types of granulocytes. They are: neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils
7. How many types of agranulocyte do you know? What are they?
There are two types of agranulocytes. They are lymphocytes and monocytes
8. Where are blood cells made?
All blood cells are produced in red bone marrow. Some white blood cells multiply in lymphoid
tissue as well.
9. What are the smallest blood vessels? What is their function?

The smallest blood vessels are capillaries. Their function is Allow oxygen and nutrients to
pass from the blood into tissues and allow waste to pass from tissues into the blood.
10. What is the biggest/largest blood vessel? What is its function?
The largest blood vessel is the Aorta. Function: carry blood away from the heart to the rest of
your body.
11. Where do arteries carry blood to?
Arteries carry blood away from the heart
12. Where do veins carry blood to?
Veins carry blood towards (lead back to) the heart.
13. Where is your heart? What does your heart do?
The heart is located in the chest, slightly to the left of the center. It pumps blood throughout
the body.
14. How many chambers does your heart have?
The heart has four chambers: two atria and two ventricles.
15. What is the trachea and what are its functions?
The trachea is a windpipe that connects the larynx to the bronchi. Also called windpipe. carry
air in and out of your lungs.
16. How many layers do the pleura have? What are they?
The pleura has two layers:
Visceral pleura: covers the lungs
Parietal pleura: lines the inside of the chest cavity
17. How many lobes is the right lung/ left lung made of?
The right lung has three lobes, while the left lung has two lobes.
18. What do the alveoli look like?
The alveoli look like tiny grape bunches or very tiny balloons.
19. Where are the bornchioles?
Bronchioles are small airways in the lungs that branch off from the bronchi / The bronchi
branch off into smaller bronchi and even smaller tubes called bronchioles.
20. Where are the lungs?
