Distribution and utilization of minerals and energy resources; their economic and environmental
significance. Major soil types and their distribution; Problems of soil erosion and soil conservation.

Types and distribution of forests, flora, fauna and fisheries; their economic and environmental
significance. Conservation of forest resources.
UNIT-V
Distribution and utilization of water; water harvesting- need; forms of water; ground water- utility;
storing rain water for direct use; economic and environmental significance.
