COMMON INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

1. Why did you choose to study your degree subject?

I chose to study Industrial Administrative Engineering because it combines engineering with


business management. This combination allows me to learn how to improve processes and
make companies run more efficiently. I wanted a degree that offered practical skills that can
be applied to real-world challenges and that has a broad career field.

2. What did you most/least enjoy about your degree subject?

What I enjoy most is the opportunity to learn about technical and managerial aspects. Being
able to attend conferences, visits or industrial events through the university has helped me
learn about the processes, thoughts and experiences of people and organizations within the
industrial sector. What I enjoy least is the heavy focus on complex mathematical models,
which can be challenging at times.

3. What skills did you develop at university?

I developed analytical and problem-solving skills, which are crucial to evaluate and improve
processes. I also gained strong project management skills, knowledge of software such as
AutoCAD, SolidWork or Fluid Sim, and teamwork skills, as many tasks required
collaboration. Additionally, I improved my communication skills, which are essential for
presenting ideas clearly and working effectively with others.

4. What was the most challenging aspect of your degree course?

The most challenging aspect of my career was mastering advanced technical concepts,
especially those related to process optimization and quality control. These topics required a
lot of attention to detail and critical thinking. However, overcoming these challenges gave me
a deeper understanding of how to implement changes that improve efficiency and
effectiveness within a company.
5. Tell us something about yourself.

In my free time, I enjoy exercising and staying active, as it helps me relax and stay healthy. I
also like exploring new hobbies, such as reading and going for a run. These activities help me
recharge my energy and maintain a positive attitude.

6. What do you like doing in your spare time?

In my spare time, I love to read, especially books about technology and interesting stories. I
also enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking, or biking, as it helps me relax and recharge.
Cooking is another hobby of mine, and I like trying out new recipes and experimenting in the
kitchen. Being with my friends and family is important to me, and I cherish the moments we
spend together.

7. Why do you want this job?

I want this job because I am passionate about optimizing processes and improving
operational efficiency, which aligns perfectly with my studies in Industrial Management

I handle stress by staying organized and prioritizing tasks. I make to-do lists to ensure I focus
on what's most important and break larger tasks down into smaller, more manageable steps. I
also find that exercising regularly helps me relieve stress and stay focused.

17. What motivates you in terms of work?

I am motivated by the opportunity to learn and improve processes. Seeing the impact of my
efforts in making operations more efficient is very rewarding. I also enjoy working as part of
a team to achieve common goals and find motivation in contributing to the success of the
group.
18. What interests you most/least in your current work?

I am not currently working, but what I find most interesting about my job as a gym instructor
is the opportunity to motivate and help clients achieve their fitness goals. What interests me
least is the administrative paperwork that can sometimes take away from directly interacting
with clients and focusing on their development.

19. Why did you leave your last job?

I left my last job as a gym instructor to focus on completing my degree in Industrial


Management Engineering. I wanted to fully dedicate myself to developing the skills
necessary for my future career in industrial engineering and process optimization.

20. What do you think will be the most challenging aspect of this role?

I think the most challenging aspect of this position might be quickly adapting to new
production processes and technologies. However, I am confident in my ability to learn
quickly and apply my skills to overcome any challenge.

21. Tell us about a time when you have been innovative at work.

At the gym, I noticed that clients were losing motivation with their workouts. To make things
more interesting, I introduced a monthly fitness challenge that encouraged clients to try new
exercises and track their progress. This friendly competition boosted engagement and
motivation, and clients loved the innovative approach to their routines.

22. Tell us about a time when you encountered a problem and how you solved it.

While working as a gym instructor, I encountered a situation where a client was not seeing
the expected results from their fitness program. I analyzed their routine and made adjustments
to their exercise and diet plans. After implementing these changes, the client began to see
improvements and their satisfaction increased.

23. Tell us about a time when you had to make a difficult decision.

A difficult decision I faced was choosing between continuing to work while studying or
focusing solely on my degree. After considering my long-term goals, I decided to prioritize
my education, which allowed me to gain more knowledge and skills in my field.

24. Tell us about a time when you successfully managed a difficult situation at work.

As a gym instructor, there was a time when several clients had conflicting schedules and
goals. I worked closely with each client to rearrange their sessions and adjust their programs
to meet their needs while maintaining a fluid schedule for everyone involved. This taught me
the importance of communication and flexibility.
25. How do you work in a team?

I work well as a team player by being supportive and open to others' ideas. I believe in

26. How would your manager describe your work?

My manager would describe my job as diligent and dependable. I constantly strive to meet

27. You seem not to have too much experience. Do you think would be a problem?

I don't think so, although I don't have much experience, I have a strong academic background
in Industrial Engineering Management and have developed relevant skills through my studies
and projects. I'm a fast learner, eager to gain practical experience and confident in my ability
to adapt quickly and contribute positively to your team.

28. How have you changed over the last five years?

Over the past five years, I have become more focused and determined in achieving my career
goals. I have developed strong organizational and time management skills and have become
more adaptable and open to learning new things. These changes have prepared me to deal
with challenges effectively.

29. Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?

In five years, I see myself as a skilled industrial engineer, having gained significant
experience and knowledge in process optimization. My goal is to take on more responsibility
and contribute to innovative projects within the company. I also hope to mentor others and
help them develop their skills.
