MONITORING OF THE OPENING OF CLASSES
School Year 2024-2025
I. INTRODUCTION
The opening of School Year 2024-2025 is set on July 29,2024. This time,
the resumption of in-person classes as committed by DepEd will push through.
Relative to this, monitoring of the opening of the first week of classes is necessary
in order to a) immediately provide the needed assistance by the school personnel
and learners, and b) record and report other needs and concerns relative to the
opening of classes that should be addressed. In view of the foregoing, the Oplan
Balik Eskwela is necessary.
II. STANDARD REQUIREMENTS:
The following standard requirements are set to ensure the validity and
reliability of the monitoring results:
A. The monitoring will be onsite.
B. PTA and Barangay Officials will be invited during the monitoring.
C. The monitoring team should be assigned to the following areas of
concern:

III. THE MONITORING PROCESS
Very essential for the conduct of monitoring is the accomplishment of
the OBE Monitoring Tool. This should be in the hands of the monitoring team
members as they perform the processes of monitoring.
A. Entrance Conference

The purpose of the entrance conference is to explain the objectives,
scope and procedure of monitoring these should be participated in by the
school head, PTA and Barangay Officials and other stakeholders who may
be available at the school at the moment of monitoring.
B. Actual Monitoring
The actual monitoring may involve one or a combination of any of
the following procedures as applicable:
1. Comprehensive document review
This involves scrutinizing documents that may satisfy
observance of the monitoring indicator by the school. This
method is done only when necessary.
2. Interview
This method is done to ascertain compliance of the school on
indicators that could not be verified through document review or
physical audit. It is also used to further substantiate findings.
3. Physical Facility/Equipment/Material Audit
This is done to ascertain the presence, availability and/ or
enoughness of facility/equipment/material.
4. School Facility Walk Through
This is performed when the monitor does ocular inspection
on the facility/equipment/material. This is done to determine
functionality and compliance to standards.
C. Exit Conference
This is done to discuss the findings and recommendations of the
monitoring team. It may be also a time for the provision of technical
assistance to the schools for the improvement of the existing conditions of
the school to make it more prepared for in person classes. This should be
participated in by in by the school head, PTA and Barangay Officials and
other stakeholders who may be available at the school at the moment of
monitoring.
