ABSTRACT
The present descriptive correlational study investigates the relationship between Emotional
Intelligence and Academic Achievement among adolescent College Students who are
studying in higher secondary and undergraduate colleges of Balasore locality. Schutte Self-
report Emotional Intelligence Test was administered to 100 higher secondary and
undergraduate students who were selected through purposive sampling technique. Pearson’s
Product Moment correlation was applied to measure correlation between Academic
Achievement criterion and emotional intelligence. Also t-test was applied to find the gender
differences if any. The result of the study revealed that, though there is not any gender
difference was observed, but there is a significant relationship between Emotional
Intelligence and Academic Achievement was found.
