1. Mission and Vision Statement of the Guidance & Counseling Office
Mission:
The Porais HS Guidance Office, offers a quality, equitable and complete guidance
services, which will nurture a healthy learning environment to ensure students success in
current and future endeavors.
Vision:
The Porais HS Guidance Office envisions patriotic students who recognize their
potentials, self-worth and are nation builders.
We are committed in providing better services to our services to our stakeholders.

3. General and Specific Objectives
A. General Objective:
Assistance of discovering and developing future leaders through guidance
programs and activities.
B. Specific Objective:
At the end of the school year, students are expected to acquire the attitude,
knowledge, and skills that will contribute in the development of their:
Awareness of their talents and abilities.
Motivating skills for others
Management of problems and environmental shifts.

4. Role of Guidance Counselor
The guidance counselor is a licensed professional whose education provides him/her with
the unique qualifications to address the academic, career and personal/social development
needs of students. As a professional counselor, must abide by the Ethical Standards for
Guidance Counselors as advocated by the Philippine Guidance Counselors Association.
The guidance counselor’s role is to encourage personal responsibility in students as they
work toward becoming successful citizens in an ever-changing global society.
a. As a Leader
Recognize the need for and develop programs/initiatives
Presenter to educators, community organizations, and the School Board on school
initiatives that impact students’ personal/social, academic, and career
development.
b. As an Advocate
Support all students and ensure equitable access to educational services
c. As a Collaborator
The counselors will work as a liaison between teachers, parents, and community
stakeholders to discuss and develop the student’s academic, career, and personal/social
success.
d. As an Agent of Systemic Change
Member of professional school counseling organizations
Resource to provide input when called upon by administrators, educators, parents,
and community members.

8. Function of the personnel in the chart
a. Principal
Creates, communicates, and implements the vision, mission, and overall
direction of the institution.
Formulate and implements the strategic plan of the school. Oversees the
complete operation of the institution in accordance with the direction
established in the strategic plans.
b. Master Teacher
Second command whenever the principal is not around.
c. Teacher I-III
Teach and educate students according to guidelines provided by the DepEd
Curriculum Framework under the overall guidance of the competent education
authority.
