LOGIQ P3 Block Diagram
The Logiq P3 hardware
architecture is almost identical to
that of the Logiq e Laptop
ultrasound. It is a digital
beamforming unit that can handle
up to 192 element linear probes.
The signal flow starts with the Probe
Connector Panel to the Front End,
to the Mid Processors and the TMST
Board and then lastly to the LCD
and peripherals. The system
configuration is stored on the HDD.
The software necessary to run the
unit is loaded from the HDD during
power up.
LOGIQ P3 Power Subsystem
When the
system is
powered on,
all three of the
green LEDs will
be lit. The
example below
is of a system
that is plugged
in but not
powered on.
PDB-Power Distribution Board
The PDB is the interface between the
Main Power Supply and the rest of the
system. The LEDs in the picture to left
are generated by the PDB.
The power comes to the AC power Assembly via the
Power Cord. The AC Power Assy. isolates the output
to the AC/DC unit which is inside the system console.
Input can be 100VAC to 240 VAC.
Logiq P3 Front End
The Front End generates
strong transmit bursts via
the transducers into the
body structures. It then
receives weaker
ultrasound echoes from
the body via the
transducer, it amplifies
those signals and
converts them digitally.
Front End Components:
TX64 - Transmit Board
RX64 - Receiver Board
CWD - Optional Continuous Wave Doppler Board
TMST - Master Board
CONN - Probe Connector Board
Front End Components Functions

Logiq P3 Back End
The TMST takes the data from the
Front End, stores it in memory,
performs the scan conversion to
pixel domain, and drives the LCD
display.
Logiq P3 Top Console
The Top Console includes a
Standby/On switch, a QWERTY
keyboard, different controls for
manipulating the images on the
screen, controls for measurement
and analyzation, and stereo
speaker for Doppler audio.
Logiq P3 External I/O
The External I/O is the interface
between the system the network
and whatever peripherals might
be connected. The Video output
is VGA, S-Video, and Composite.
P3 FILTER
Access to the main system filter is
from the front of the unit under the
Front Cover. It will slide out of the
front of the unit and can be
cleaned or replaced without tools.
LOGIQ P5, A5, P6
The Logiq P6, P5, and A5 all share a form factor
and are similar in their architecture.
The Logiq P6 is the higher end of the three and is
designed to serve the widest list of clinical
specialties, including General Imaging, Cardiac,
Vascular, OB/GYN, etc.
The P5 is positioned in the middle with General
Imaging, Women’s Health, Urology, Point-of-Care,
etc.
The Logiq A5 fits into the third tier with a cheaper
CPU and reduced features.
A5/P5 POWER ARCHITECTURE
The APS assembly is the
Advanced Power Supply. DC Output Voltages:
It is both the HV and LV +5VLP
power generator for the +5V
unit. It also generates the +3.3V
digital voltages as well. It +12V
has an LED readout to +12VFAN
show what voltages are +6V
present. -6V
+12V
-12V
HV Output Voltages:
+/- 80V constantly
0 to +/- 60V individually
A5/P5 Transbox
The primary functions that
the TransBox (AC Power) has
are to isolate the AC
power(via an isolation
transformer) and supply AC
power to the various
assemblies that use it.
Isolated output power can
be adjusted to 110VAC or
240VAC. This assembly
contains a circuit breaker.
A5/P5 FRONT END ARCHITECTURE
System can have a P2RLY
or a P3RLY board which is
the transducer interface for
the unit.
System can have a CL1TRX
or a BL1TRX board. One is
color capable and the
other is not. This is a 64
channel board containing
the TX, RX, and summing
delay functions of the front
end.
The ACWD board is for
continuous wave Doppler
and is optional.
There is also an ASIG board
that acts as a bus board for
the front end.
A5/P5 BACK END ARCHITECTURE
The SYSCONPM is the System
Control board or CPU and
contains a Pentium processor.
It controls the scan parameters
and performs signal processing
for tissue and Doppler
functions. There is another
version of this board called the
SYSCONCM performs the same
functions as the SYSCONPM
but has a Celeron processor.
They are not interchangeable.
The SYSCONCM will normally
be in the B/W version of the
unit and the SYSCONPM will
normally be in the Color
version. There is also a system
HDD that contains the system
software and ultrasound
applications.
A5/P5 REAR PANEL
The ARP (Arirang Rear Panel) is
located at the rear of the unit and
contains the System I/O connections.
Outside View Inside View
A5/P5 4D Box
If a 4D Box is present it will be mounted on the back of the unit.
They are optional and rare on the P5. It will be powered by AC not
the APS.
A5/P5 TOP CONSOLE
The Top Console on the A5/P5 system consist of 2 parts. The Main Keyboard
Assembly and the Sub Keyboard Assembly. The Sub Keyboard Assembly
contains the On/Off Standby switch, 5 encoders, and 4 arrow keys.
A5/P5/P6 FILTERS
These systems have 2 filters located on the left and right sides of the unit. They both slide
out of their respective mounts and can be cleaned or replaced without tools.
P6 ARCHTECTURE
The P5 and P6 units are similar in their looks and in their
Power and Top Console architecture. There is a newer
version of the Transbox in the P6 as well as a newer APS
called an APSII. They function almost identically to the
Transbox and APS in the P5. The Top Console is
basically the same on the P5 and P6.
The Front End of the P6 has a different architecture than
that of the P5. The P2RLY/P3RLY board has been
replaced with a PI128 probe interface board to
accommodate the 128 channel imaging probes.
Where the P5 had a TX/RX type front end, the P6 has a
channel board design where the Tx, Rx, and
beamforming functions are performed on the same
board. The P6 has two cascading 64-channel
DTRX64’s(for a total of 128 channel imaging). The
RFC(RF Signal Connection BD) was added to connect
the PI128, the DTRX64’s, and the CWD64(Optional).
LOGIQ P6 BREAKDOWN
• The Front End consists of the PI128(Probe Interface) and 2
DTRX64II’s-basically a Probe Interface board and 2 Channel
boards.
• The Back End consists of the SYSCONML, The HDD, and Rear
Panel Assembly.
• The APSII is the system overall power supply.

LOGIQ E8
The Logiq E8 has a wider body style than the Logiq S8. It contains a Universal Video
Convertor(UVC) that requires a cooling fan that is mounted on the outside of the card
cage under the larger cover assembly. The E8 shares the same Application software as
the S8. The Raw Image Data is different between the 2 systems making the S8 unable to
read the Raw Image Data from the E8 and vice versa. Back up and Restore are also
incompatible between the units.
