ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINES FOR ENT503
Assignment 1: Students must read 15 passages given on LMS. The reading answers should be
submitted by the due date assigned by the lecturer.
Assignment 2: Group Presentation
In groups of FOUR or FIVE, students prepare a presentation (15-20 minutes) following ONE
of these two options.
OPTION 1:
Students are randomly assigned ONE out of TEN given topics. The given topics include:
1. Talk about important suggestions to have a successful job interview. (You should include your
specific suggestions for before-during-after the interview.)
2. Talk about the main responsibilities of young people to their families. (You should include
specific responsibilities, time, places, and common duties for males and females.)
3. Talk about some types of fear and realistic solutions to overcome fear. (You should include
specific kinds of fear, key features, physical and mental effects, and effective solutions to
overcome fear.)
4. Talk about some causes of getting angry and ideal ways to handle anger. (You should include
specific types of anger, key features, and ways to express and control anger.)
5. Talk about some features of humor and its impact on mental health.
6. Talk about some Internet threats and some practical solutions to stay safe on the Internet.
7. Talk about some common phobias among students and effective solutions to overcome phobias.
(You should include the definition of phobia, types of phobias, key features, and practical solutions
to overcome phobias.)
8. Talk about some types of intelligence and ways to boost each type of intelligence. (You should
include some specific types of intelligence, key features, and ways to boost intelligence.)
9. Talk about predictions about future technology and their impacts on life. (You should include
specific technological devices, predictions, reasons for predictions, and impacts on life.)
10. Talk about some features of culture shock and solutions to avoid it. (You should include the
definition of culture shock, key features, the pros and cons of culture shock, and relevant
examples.)
OPTION 2
Students suggest ONE topic (different from the list in option 1) based on ONE unit
introduced in the textbook for the presentation.
Teachers decide if the proposed topic is accessible. Teachers can make changes or
adjustments to the topic if necessary. In case the suggested topic is inaccessible or unrelated
to the units in the course textbook, teachers can reject students’ suggestions.
