1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Classroom Management
4. Song
5. Review
In our past lesson, we discussed the different characteristics of solids.
Let us see if you still remember our lesson yesterday.

Direction: Click TRUE if the statement is correct and FALSE if not.

______1. Adda solid nga nakirsang, adda met solid nga nalamuyot..
______2. Awan ti usto a sukog ti solid.
______3. No ti tabo ket ikabil iti uneg ti timba, saan nga agbaliw ti sukogna.
______4. Ti solid ket addan usto nga sukog ken dagsen.
______5. Agpapada ti dagsen iti solid.
B. Establishing the Purpose of the Motivational question:
Lesson. (Motivation)
 Have you experienced accompanying your mother in buying needs in
your home?
 What are the things that you are buying?
 What are your favorite drinks that you ask to your parents to buy?
Why?
(give them chance to answer individually)
 Are these drinks good to your health?
 What kind of matter are your favorite drinks?

C. Presenting examples/instances of EXPLORATION

the new lesson. Ni Anti Nena ket napan nakitienda dagiti masapol iti uneg ti
(Demonstration/Modelling) pagtaenganda. Gimmatang iti manteka, soy, suka, bagoong, ken magic
(Constructivism/Collaborative) sarap. Gimmatang pay suna iti sabon, shampoo, ken lotion. Nangala pay
isuna iti condense milk ken itlog a pagaramid na ti leche flan a lako na.

Answer the following questions:

1. Sino ti napan nakitienda?
2. Ania dagiti ginatgatang ni Anti Nena?
3. Da nanang yo kadi ket mapmapan makitientienda kasla ken anti
Nena? Apay nga da nanang ket magmagustwan da ti pan
gumatgatang diay tiendaan kaysa gumatang diay store saggaysa?
4. Ania dagiti liquids nga ginatgatang ni anti Nena?

D. Development of the Lesson Show all the things that Anti Nena bought. Let your learners smell some
of the liquids. And let them describe it.

 We can classify liquids according to their smell. Some liquids

have a good smell, some has bad smell and some have no odor.

Ask the learners what are liquids that has a good /bad smell /no odor
liquids.

Get two liquids and transfer them in another container. Let the learners
describe how these liquids flow.

 Another we can classify liquids according to their texture or how

they flow. Thick liquids flow slowly, while thin liquids flow
easily.

Ask the learners what are the liquids that flows slowly and quickly.
D. Discussing new concepts and A. Developmental questions through UNLOCK ME ACTIVITY
practicing new skills #1. Have pupils give the distinguishing characteristics of each classification
of vertebrate.
Put the corresponding key under its proper padlock.

Lock contains the 5 animal classifications

Key contains the different distinguishing characteristics of

vertebrates.

B. GROUP ACTIVITY
1. Setting of standard
Always listen attentively
Never shout at your groupmates
Ignite the ideas of the other members
Maintain cleanliness in your area
Always share your best
Let each member cooperate
2. Distributions of IM’s to group leaders

3. Group Activity

(see power point presentation)

Matching type of animals and its characteristics. (1-5)

A B
1 A Have dry scaly skin, some have scale some
have shells
Primarily breathe through their lungs for
respiration
2 B Breathe through lungs
Most live on land
Others live in water

3 C With tails and fins

Covered with scales

4 D Body temperature stays the same

Only animals with feathers
5 E Have smooth, moist and scale less skins

Group 2:
Group the pictures and paste it under its classification

FISH BIRD REPTILE AMPHIBIA MAMMAL

N

Group 3:
Compare the characteristics of reptile and amphibians using the
Venn diagram

E. Discussing new concepts and Group Presentation/ Reporting

practicing new skills #2. Use rubrics group presentation.
The teacher will further discuss the background information through
inquiry approach
F. Developing mastery Interactive Quiz
Have pupils pick a question from the box and let them answer
each question.
G. Finding practical applications of What vertebrate animals can you find in your barangay?
concepts and skills in daily living.
How do we take good care of the animals around us?

What should we do to avoid harmful animals?

How can we take good care of ourselves to avoid and fight the Covid 19
virus?

H. Making generalizations and Answer the last column of KWL Graphic organizer
abstractions about the lesson

organs that feels vibration from boat, people and
other animals
Cold-blooded or ectotherms
Terrestrial animals fully adapted to life on land
Reptiles Have dry scaly skin, some have scale some have
shells
Primarily breathe through their lungs for respiration
Use their legs /feet for locomotion
Some are born alive some are hatched from eggs

Amphibians Cold-blooded

Spend part of their lives in water and part on land

Breathe through their gills when young lungs when
they grow old
Have smooth, moist and scale less skins
Lays eggs in water and develops through
metamorphosis
Guessing Game – Teacher post the riddle allow the learners to read the
I. Application information then give the correct answer.
 I Live in water and I have gills for breathing. My body is covered
with scales. I have fins that help me move and keep my balance.
What am I?
 I have lungs as the main organ of respiration and I have scaly
skin. What am I?
 I spent part of my life in water and a part of my life on land. I
have gills for breathing but they will soon be replaced by a pair of
lungs as II grow older. What am I?
 I eat grass. I feed my young with milk. I have lungs for
respiration and four legs for walking and running. What am I?
 I have wings for flying. My skeleton is made up of strong but
light bones. I have legs for walking and running. What am I?

Answer the activity.
