Immersion
Daily Journal
Day 1: April 22,2021
We had encountered many challenges, but I think it is just normal to happen since we are just
starting up our own business. The location is our primary problem. It is quite difficult to choose the right
spot to build our stall for our food business. Due to unpreparedness, we encountered difficulty in what
our stall would look like. Our business offered only 2 kinds of product; Breadroll and Milo Jelly which we
sell at a high price. At first, we are all worried if these would be demandable or if there will be customers
that will buy our product. We got pressured, and at the same time nervous about what could be the
result and how the day will end for our business. We felt happy every time that there were customers
that are buying our products. Sadly, at the of the day, we've recorded more loss.
Day 2: April 23,2021
On the second day of launching our business the resources our first attempt was fouled. We are all
happy to at least regain our loss on the first day, so we add the same product. Many customers bought
our products, which made us happy. We've been pushing hard and exerting effort to make our stall
completely attractive to customers, and we made it! We even printed many business logos, which are
attractive to the eyes so that our customers will remember the business. In the end, we still recorded
some loss despite the effort we exerted. But it is a relief that the loss we recorded is lesser than the
previous record on our first day.
Day 3: April 26,2021
Everything was prepared; the foods that we are going to offer were cooked. We all woke up early to
prepare our products to make them available as early as 8:00 AM. We are about to set up when we
received the announcement of our teacher that the immersion was suspended due to the increasing
number of cases of COVID-19 . We all feel sad and worried about our product. To whom were we going
to sell it? One of my groupmates suggested that she will be going to sell our product at her place hoping
that the product will be bought. At the end of the day, the product was sold out. We felt relieved since
we're expecting nothing and all the negative thoughts crept into our minds.
Day 4: May 6,2021
Due to the announcement of our adviser that the Immersion was resumed, we prepared early. We
planned our strategy carefully for us to earn more with lesser expenses in our ingredients. We decided
to make our product 50% less in our previous price to gain many customers and to make our product
more affordable to the customer. We also agreed that we are going to replace one of our products and
make it more simple which needs fewer ingredients. We made it all affordable and less cost in the
ingredients, we also applied the economic strategy in production which is less input, maximum output
but never sacrificing the quality of the product. At the end of the day, we record a Net Income.
Day 5: May 7,2021
We made a small upgrade in our stall. We put a signboard with our offered products and our
business name. The signboard is made up of recycled cartons. Every member helped, hence, we
successfully made it and displayed it at our stall. The signboard is quite simple but at the same time
neat. We didn't expect that we are going to rush because of the 15 per order from the customer, we
bought the needed ingredients in a rush but eventually made it. In the end, we are all happy that our
effort was worth it, we recorded a net income, and the remaining products had been bought. Although a
little quantity of drinks remained
Day 6: May 8,2021
There was a sudden shift in the task since the person that was assigned to stay at the stall wanted to
exchange task to the person who was creating or making the products. Because of this sudden change,
the person that should be creating the product was so late and our business opened also late. The group
decided to make less quantity of both products we offer to avoid wasting too much money on
ingredients. No other particular expenses were incurred except for the drinks that should be kept cool,
so we bought extra ice to maintain its coldness. In the morning there was less customer, but in the
afternoon many customers bought our products. Only a few drinks were sold due to the rainy weather.
At 3 o'clock, the perfect time for merienda, there were 5 pieces of breadrolls left and we are happy since
it will be sold out. We are hoping for an income by the end of the day.
Day 7: May 11, 2021
This day was tough and we were under pressure since our Immersion teacher will be going to roam
around and visit every stall. At 7:30 in the morning, we were not yet prepared to set up the stall and
cook the product that we were offering, because some of the members of the group woke up late. This
was more stressful because we don't really know if our product will be sold. We have no idea about
what will going to happen. Unexpectedly, the main product had been sold out before 11:00 AM. So we
all planned and agreed that we are going to produce the second set of the product and we are going to
sell in the afternoon. Apparently, things happened according to the plan. Everyone is more inclined to
sell the said product. And at the same time, we felt a little bit annoyed when the immersion teachers did
not visit. But we understood them that maybe they had a lot of things to do and was too busy with their
jobs. We will just wait for them on the other day and continue to do the task assigned to us.
Day 8: May 12,2021
We had experienced bad weather early in the morning. We thought that the weather forbade us to put
the stall up and run our business. We are so confused about what should we do to continue the
operation of our business. We used to wait until the rain ends and the rain ends at about 9:30 am. We
immediately decided to set up the stall and start our business as well. We tried to sell drinks in a
minimal amount because the weather wasn't good, since customers won't try to buy cold drinks. We
attain loss by the end of the day even if our main food product was sold out, but our drinks didn't do
well, hence, at the end we recorded some loss. Back then the group initiated Plan B.
Day 9: May 13,2021
The group decided to change the location of the stall. Early in the morning we started transferring our
stall and other stuff. After that, we've set up our stall in the target location. To show respect for the
people living in that area, one of our group members asked permission from the owner of the house if
we can build our stall in front of their house for school purposes. Gladly, the owner allowed us. Our
main products were sold out before lunchtime, while our drinks were sold in less quantity since there is
a birthday celebration near the area, so people in that place won't waste their money to buy our drinks
if they had a plan to go to birthday. But the result of this day's operation was good since we had a Net
Income. After tiredness covered us, recording our Income made our efforts worth it.
Day 10: May 14,2021
Day 11: May 15,2021
Day 12:May 17,2021
Today is our 23rd day of launching our business,
I woke up this morning feeling so happy and so excited. Today , I'm the one who's in charged to become
a stall keeper . Vicente prepared and cooked the Breadroll, while waiting for him I started to clean, put
the table cloth and prepared the palamig.
In the afternoon,I'm so happy because the Breadroll is sold out.
Day 13: May 18,2021
24th day of launching our business . Today I suggested to my group to make two stall in two place just to
gather more buyers and I'm happy when my group agreed to what I suggested ,I'm the one who's in
charged in stall here in Central. Vicente, Janna, and Ivee were in charged of our stall in Tress Maria. I
waited for Vicente to bring the breadroll here in our stall, and I’m so glad that Breadroll were sold out
even though I had a fever.
Day 14:: May 19,2021
Right after the fiesta everyone woke up early to sell again. As usual we set up a stall and arranged the
things that needed to be fixed. We experienced little bit of difficulties on setting up stall because one of
our group member was sick. I was wondering if our product would be sold out because the fiesta had
just ended and people were definitely still had food in their houses. But it was immediately replaced by
joy and happiness when it was all sold at twelve o'clock at noon. So I put back the things that had been
used in the stall and went home smiling.
