INTRODUCTION
We are pleased to introduce our proposal for creating a robust network infrastructure tailored
to meet your unique business requirements. This proposal details the planning and
implementation of DHCP, web server services, inter-departmental communication, and
wireless connectivity, all within the allocated budget of GHS 500,000. Our solution is
designed to facilitate smooth operations and ensure secure communication between your
Administration and Marketing departments.
Below is an illustration of the network topology:
IMPLEMENTATION APPROACH
Network Segmentation:
• Administration Department: Assigned to IP Network [Link]/24
• Marketing Department: Operates on IP Network [Link]/24
Hardware Requirements:
• Network Computers: Total of 50 (30 for Administration, 20 for Marketing)
• Servers: Two servers dedicated to managing DHCP and web services
• Printers: Two units, one for each department
• Wireless Access Points: Two APs ensuring full wireless connectivity
Network Devices:
• Deployment of switches, routers, and servers to support network segmentation and
connectivity
• Installation of dedicated DHCP and web servers tailored to meet departmental
requirements
Network Layout:
• Visualization using Cisco Packet Tracer to illustrate departmental networks and
router-based connections
Software and Configuration:
• DHCP setup with specific IP ranges assigned to each department
• Web servers configured to host internal sites accessible across departments
• Implementation of VLANs and firewall rules to bolster network security
Testing Strategy for DHCP and Web Services:
1. DHCP Verification:
• Connect a computer in each department to verify IP address assignment from the
designated DHCP server
• Confirm the assigned IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS settings
2. Web Server Testing:
• Access the web server from a computer within each department to ensure accessibility
• Verify correct delivery of web pages for both Administration and Marketing
departments
Inter-Departmental Network Communication Testing Plan:
1. Ping Test:
• From a computer in the Administration Department ([Link]/24), ping a
computer in the Marketing Department ([Link]/24) to confirm network
connectivity
2. File Sharing Test:
• Share a folder within the Administration Department and access it from the Marketing
Department to confirm seamless file sharing capabilities
Departmental Wireless Communication Testing Plan:
1. Wireless Connectivity Testing:
• Connect a wireless device to the access point in each department
• Ensure correct IP address allocation and seamless access to network resources
Financial Budget:
CONCLUSION
The network design prioritizes security, efficiency, and scalability while adhering to budget
constraints. Key features include advanced network segmentation, robust DHCP and web
server configurations, and reliable communication protocols. Security measures like VLANs
and firewall rules enhance data integrity. The infrastructure supports growth and innovation,
aligning with organizational goals.
