Round 1 : with colour A, ch4 and join with a sl st in 1st ch to form a ring; *(in the ring - 1sc, ch3) 8 times; join with sl st in 1st sc
made. Fasten off colour A (8sts, 8ch3 sps)
Alternative method if you don’t like the look of the sl st join : work as to * then (in the ring - 1sc, ch3) 7 times; 1sc, ch2; make a
sewn bind off for the last ch as follows - cut the yarn and pull the live loop open until the tail end pops out; thread the tail end
onto a needle; insert the needle into the 1st sc made in the same way as you would a crochet hook, i.e. from front to back and
through both loops; turn the work and thread the needle down through the 2nd ch, being careful not to pull the chain tight &
making sure you catch the back loop and back ridge of the chain; gently adjust the mock chain you’ve just created until it
matches the rest of the sts; secure the tail end into the ring. (8sts, 8ch3 sps)

Round 2 : join colour B in a ch3 sp but preferable not the one you’ve ended Round 1 with; ch5 (counts as 1dc & a ch2 sp), 2dc
in same sp; (2dc in next ch3 sp; in next ch3 sp, make a corner – 2dc, ch2,2dc) 3 times; 2dc in last ch3 sp; finish off the 1st corner
– in 1st ch3 sp, make 1dc; finish with a sl st join in 3rd ch of beg ch 5 or for a neater look, finish with a sewn bind off in the 4th ch.
(3 x 2dc clusters on each side, 4 x ch2 corner sps)

Round 3 : join colour C in any ch2 corner sp but preferable not the one you’ve ended Round 2 on; ch5 (counts as 1dc & a ch2
sp), 3dc in same sp; [(2dc between 2dc clusters from prev rnd) twice ; in ch2 sp, make a corner – 3dc, ch2,3dc] 3 times; (2dc
between 2dc clusters from prev rnd) twice; finish off the 1st corner – in 1st ch3 sp, make 2dc; finish with a sl st join in 3rd ch of
beg ch 5 or for a neater look, finish with a sewn bind off in the 4th ch. (2 x 2dc clusters on each side, 4 x corners with 2x 3dc
clusters & ch2 sps)
