Each player chooses a unique color for their settlement and takes a corresponding token.
Place the squared paper grid in the center of the playing area.
Tokens representing gold are placed in a common supply.

Players take turns, starting with the first player.
On their turn, a player rolls the 3d6 to determine the actions they can take.
The player can use the dice results to perform any combination of the following actions:
o Build: Use one or more dice to build structures on the grid. Each structure occupies one square on the grid. Buildings cost a specific amoun
gold.
o Gather: Use one or more dice to gather gold from the common supply. The number rolled on the dice represents the amount of gold collecte
o Trade: Use one or more dice to trade gold with other players. Both players must agree on the exchange rate. Trading can only be done if bo
players have settlements adjacent to each other.
o Expand: Use one or more dice to expand the settlement by claiming adjacent squares on the grid. Each square claimed costs a specific amou
gold.
After taking actions, the player may spend gold to purchase additional dice for future turns. The cost of each additional die increases with each purch
The turn then passes to the next player clockwise.
