WRITING TASK 1

The bar graph illustrates information about the annual

income of households in the US in the years 2007, 2011
and 2015.

In summary, during the given years, the numbers of

middle-class and upper-middle-class individuals remained
relatively stable, whereas the numbers of lower-class,
lower-middle-class, and upper-class individuals showed
various fluctuations.

It was observed that the number of people earning

between 50 and 75 thousand dollars remained nearly
constant over the three years, with their numbers slightly
above 20 million. Likewise, the number of individuals in
the upper-middle class, earning between 75 and 100
thousand dollars, did not fluctuate much, though their
figures were somewhat less stable compared to those of
the middle class.

In contrast, the number of lower-class individuals

increased from just over 25 million to just under 30
million between 2007 and 2011, then slightly declined to
around 27 million by 2015. A similar trend was seen in
the lower-middle class, with an increase from 2007 to
2011, followed by a decrease (in)to 2015, fluctuating
around 27 million households. However, the number of
individuals with incomes exceeding 100 thousand dollars
dropped from 2007 to 2011 but then rose to over 30
million after 2011.

WRITING TASK 2

University education serves as a gateway to both

knowledge and career opportunities. However, there is an
ongoing debate about whether students should broaden
their horizons by studying subjects beyond their main
specialization or focus solely on obtaining a qualification
in their chosen field. This essay will explore both
perspectives and argue why learning about different
subjects beyond the core subjects should be considered
ideal.
On one side, proponents of specialization assert that
dedicating all of one's time and attention to a chosen field
can lead to greater expertise and career prospects. For
instance, a student pursuing a degree in computer science
may argue that exclusively focusing on coding,
algorithms, and computer systems will make them more
competitive in the job market. This focus can also
accelerate the learning curve, allowing students to master
complex concepts in their chosen field.

On the other side, there are compelling reasons to support

a broader educational experience. Studying subjects
beyond the core specialization can foster interdisciplinary
thinking and problem-solving skills. For example, a
computer science student who takes courses in
psychology or ethics may develop a nuanced
understanding of the ethical implications of technology.
Such a well-rounded perspective can lead to more
responsible and innovative solutions in their career.
In my opinion, exploring other subjects is a far more
beneficial approach for university students. While a
strong foundation in one's chosen field is crucial,
interdisciplinary knowledge equips students with a
holistic view of the world, making them adaptable and
creative in addressing complex challenges. It also helps
them bring about innovations that are useful for society.

In conclusion, while specialization has its benefits,

universities should encourage students to explore a
variety of subjects to enrich their educational experience
and achieve a well-rounded education. This approach
provides a more comprehensive skill set and a broader
perspective, which can be invaluable in a rapidly
changing world.

The conclusion does not have to be a new idea, just

summarize what was discussed in the body.
